I have tried to communicate with the Kristin the owner since November. We scheduled an appointment to view the venue, we get there no one is there. I have called multiple times and emailed while there no response. We call the other number on the voice from my fiancé phone she answers. Instantly blames me for the missing the appointment. She stated that she emailed and called to verify the appointment. Which I had not received any calls or emails from her. I even check my spam. We went ahead and rescheduled. We love the look of this venue and it was exactly what we wanted for our wedding. We had our tour with Kristin, we thought it went great. She stated she would send over the bar menu. Never received that. I then a few days later emailed her asking for the bar menu and what do we need to do to lock in our date. I did receive a email back with Information needed for the contract. I sent that back within 30 minutes of receiving her email requesting this information. No response for a few days. I then try to call. No answer of course. I have left voicemails each time I have called also. No return calls. Then I received an email stating that she seen me call she was in a conference and preferred contact method would be email. I have tried multiple times to email her an at this point my email will not send. This is absolutely poor communication and business.

My niece’s wedding, what a beautiful setting. The staff was wonderful, everything went just as desired. There is a very tiny elevator for the extremely handy cap. My mother has a walker and it worked well.

The restrooms are on the main floor only. The event was on the second floor. To use the facilities or get a beverage from the bar you had to go up and down 2 flights of stairs. The place was beautiful though. Parking across the street but it cost 5$. I didn't expect to have to pay to go to a wedding but be aware if you attend any functions it is a pay lot.

Absolutely stunning, I stared at the chandeliers alone for like 22 minutes.

I was blown away at how beautiful this little hidden gem of a venue is just across the river in Newport, Kentucky. Recently under new ownership, the space has been updated to maintain the classic history of the space. Gorgeous for weddings less than 200 and in the perfect location-highly recommend!

We had a great experience with Carnegie for our wedding on 5/15/21! We booked them at the last minute due to a venue change from COVID restrictions. We had a minor communication issue under the old owners when we originally booked them, but when the new owners came on board, we had absolutely no issues. Kristin Dickman was wonderful to work with - she was responsive, kind and accommodating. She made sure we got the wedding of our dreams and we certainly did! The venue is beautiful and our guests are still raving about how cool and unique our venue was. Thank you, Kristin!

Despite this being a beautiful venue that had great promise prior to the pandemic, we have since been treated so poorly that we are considering taking legal action. This venue is withholding thousands of dollars that were promised to be returned to us.Here’s our story:We had booked and signed on with The Carnegie for our early June wedding reception. When the pandemic was clearly not coming to an end any time soon, we decided to cancel our reception and have a small ceremony with immediate family. As soon as we made this decision, we reached out to The Carnegie to ask about their cancellation policy in regards to the developing situation. We were told by the manager that despite their usual refund policy, they would be issuing full refunds for couples that had to cancel due to the pandemic. We were incredibly grateful, and waited patiently to hear back about next steps. When a couple of weeks passed with no refund or word from the venue, we reached out and were reassured that refunds were being issued in a matter of days. Again, weeks passed with no refund or contact. We reached out several times over these weeks via email and phone (by now it was over two months from the original contact), but never once heard back. We decided to pursue legal counsel, but wanted to inform the manager before doing so to give them one last chance to rectify the situation on their own. We called, no one picked up, so we left a voicemail notifying the manager that we were considering legal action. Within an hour, she called back frantically asking us not to. She said she would talk to the owner, who was supposedly the one withholding the refund, and get back to us.Unfortunately, it has now been over a month from that call. We’ve attempted to contact her several times, and we’ve even asked for the owner’s information hoping that we could streamline the process and contact him ourselves. We’ve had no luck, and we are feeling desperate and swindled. As a high school teacher myself and a husband who is a full time graduate student, losing this amount of money has had a profoundly negative impact on our financial security. We are leaving this review because times are incredibly tough, both personally and financially, for everyone in this community right now. We understand how deeply challenging it is to plan a wedding during such uncertain times, and we don’t want other couples to suffer the way that we have.Again, we had such high hopes for this venue and are deeply saddened to have to report such unfortunate treatment. If you are considering booking with them, please take what I have shared into consideration as well.

Beautiful on the inside. Had the feeling of being in a living room with several conversation areas and comfortable seating.

We have yet to have our wedding, but Kristin Dickman has made it clear our day will be what we have imagined it to be. She is extremely knowledgeable and easy to get along with. I couldn't be happier to have her. Also the venue is gorgeous, being historical and urban ad the same time. Perfect for those that want elegant but not over the top extravagant for their wedding.

Cool old building with plenty of original architectural features. Great for the 50-100 person wedding we attended.

Carnegie Hall at Newport was by far the best wedding planning decision we made. We got the most for our money - beauty, convenience, bridal/groom suites, limo, ability to choose our caterer and bring our own alcohol. Kim helped us narrow down and plan our last details and helped make everything run as smoothly as possible. We were blown away by the final outcome! We highly recommend the Carnegie at Newport. Don't bother looking elsewhere!
