I’ve been looking forward to coming here for a few months now - just needed to build up the courage to try something new. This was my first impression of ALDI but I’ve heard how it works so I came armed with my quarter and bags.
Found everything easily. The store was clean. Absolutely incredible prices.
I go to checkout - 1 person in line behind me (most people were using self checkout). Knowing I need to bag my groceries after this is done, I ask Angelique (the woman who was at the register) to stop the conveyer belt so I can get all of my groceries out of the cart and in order for the way I need to bag them. She looked at me like I had just asked her to do a handstand or something equally as crazy and, all while not stopping the conveyer belt and watching me try to hold my groceries from going to her, asked me why - waited for my explanation - and proceeded to tell me all the reasons why she didn’t think I needed to. After all of that, she says “but I’ll stop it for you though”, stops it, and continues to huff and puff as I load my groceries on.
I walk to the end and position myself to bag the groceries (keep in mind, this is my first time at an ALDI) and in the same annoyed tone tells me I have to bag my groceries in the bagging area. Before I can even get my bags out of the cart, she starts throwing my groceries in as she scans them. No care taken to ensure my produce isn’t falling out of the containers they’re in. Not caring that other items are getting squashed. It almost feels like she’s doing this on purpose because of our previous interaction.
As someone with anxiety when it comes to trying new things, this was the worst possible outcome for me. The deals and cleanliness are outshone by the extremely rude worker and I will likely not come back. I’m not saying you have to be like Chick-fil-A or Trader Joe’s when it comes to customer service but at the very least, you should watch your tone and not speak to customers like they’re idiots. A simple “oh, you’re new around here” followed by an explanation of the checkout process would have sufficed.

Always find deals here. Garlic Naan is great and their frozen meatballs. Remember you need a quarter for a cart and to bring your own bags. They also have a great miscellaneous section with amazing deals! We bought a camp show for just $6.

I'm not a fan and won't return. No one did anything wrong, but I couldn't find anything I wanted. I didn't realize they sell in bulk. I live alone, so I don't buy in bulk. I did buy a few things.

Cashier Chelsea was very rude. We left our stuff in our boxes so she could just scan it and put it in the cart. The person before us left stuff in the boxes, so we figured it was fine. She then proceeded to take everything out of the boxes, throw it back into our cart, and then apologize to the people behind us because we left stuff in boxes. After throwing everything back onto the conveyer belt, she proceeded to scan everything and throw the produce, chips, and other damagable items into the cart. She could've just asked us to take the stuff out of the boxes, and we would have. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

The cashier was rude. I have 3 toddlers, two of them were in the cart. She asked for the other cart back after I was done bagging. No problem. I said sure. LESS than 5 minutes later while I'm bagging my groceries as fast as I can. She asks for the cart back. Where do you expect me to put 2 little kids? On top of the groceries you piled on the kids seat in the cart? I'm going to give you the cart back. Go get another one like all the other cashier's do.
