There are two FiveStar stations in Mount Washington; this is the first one you see when driving in from Louisville, while the other is on the town's main throughway. The latter feels like it's straight out of "Deliverance," so this is the one you want. Great staff, clean quarters in and outside the store, and they always make an effort to keep prices at the pump as low as possible. I've always had a soft spot for FiveStar's food, too; the FiveStar Bold coffee will certainly wake you up and their baked goods are well worth a shot.

I've used this gas station for years, when visiting my old hometown, which isn't as frequent as it should be. It's always the cheapest gas around. Yesterday, it saved me a trip to Costco, where I usually fill up my tank. On my way back home, I passed Thorton's in Fern Creek, and it was about $.50 more a gallon. This is crazy, considering the gas stations are about five miles apart. The convenience store is nice and clean. The pumps are fast, and the station is easy to get in and out of. Five Star usually has free air pumps too, but I didn't look to see if this was the case at this one or not. As far as gas stations go, it's five stars; the great prices alone warrant that rating in my opinion.
