Before starting my new job 3 months ago I brought my 2019 Ford Edge ST in for a multi-point inspection specifically asking them to check the drive train components well as this new job requires a lot of daily driving. About a month ago I started to hear a clunk and almost deep grinding sound coming from the right rear when turning and when shifting up while accelerating. This morning I take out the drain and fill plugs from the rear diff which required basically breaking them free from the rust (that ran right up to the case on both plugs) and and road film build up and the oil is nearly black with about a quarter inch of metal shavings caked onto the magnetic drain plug i don't think these plugs have ever been removed since the vehicle came off the assembly line. The inspection was never done as requested and paid for and now I'm staring down the barrel of a $3k rear diff replacement. Avoid this business like a terminal illness...

Well I never thought I'd say this but I was pleased that the fact I didn't have to take my truck in to have a factory recall done on it but actually pretty satisfied I wish they take care of that defect in the timing chain on the 2014 EcoBoost motor but what can you say
