Did not have many hair dryers left on the shelf,nor were there many hair brushes, but I like to shop at Ulta for my birthday presents. Always find something else to get instead of what I originally wanted.

I went on a Monday. It was great. There were few sales people but there were about a half dozen ladies shopping. I love that because you can really try things on and explore without being targeted by sales. Don't get me wrong, when I have asked for help here, the ladies are knowledgeable! I asked for help with Bare Minerals concealer and the sales lady set me up well! But one of the reasons you may choose to shop here is that you can really explore on your own -- if you choose -- and there is lots of space you won't feel crowded (like at the mall).

I will never have my hair cut at Ulta again. I went in with a grown out bob that was past my shoulders and asked for a trim. I did say that I occasionally have thinning no shears light used. The hairdresser butchered my hair with horrible layers that I did not ask for and I can no longer pull anything into a ponytail. It will probably take a year to get these awful layers that won’t lay down out of my hair. Yes I called and complained to management. It’s been almost a month and I hate the cut every single day. I don’t want to even it up as they already cut several inches out of my hair.

Recently, Ulta Beauty at the Paddock Shops held an event whereby certain styling tools were demonstrated. After the demonstration, your stylist coached you on achieving your sought after style. It was fantastic! My stylist was Sydney and I can not adequately describe how wonderful she is. She is very talented. I hope they do this again.

I absolutely LOVE Ulta for their product selection and friendly associates. I’ve been to the salon at various Ultas as well and always had great experiences. Ulta itself is 5 stars. However tonight, it felt very different and that is why I give the salon a low rating. I’m not one to make complaints unless something really bothers me. The original stylist texted me the day before asking me if I could come in any earlier and due to work and distance from the store, I could not. The day of the appointment I receive a text saying she is sick but she will put me on someone else’s schedule for the same time. Not shortly after that, I received a call from the other stylist asking if I could come in earlier and what exactly it was that I was wanting done. Obviously self scheduling is there for a reason and if I could come any earlier I would have scheduled myself earlier. When I got there and she came to get me, we immediately went back to wash my hair. She put the treatment on and said she would be back in 10 minutes. When she came back it was almost 20 minutes later and my scalp felt like it was starting to burn a bit. I’m not one to complain out loud so I just let it go. When she takes the towel off at the mirror I notice red splotches around my hairline that was not there before the appointment. I have thick hair so drying it usually takes a while. She blow dried for a few minutes then grabbed a brush and started doing it that way I guess to give a blow out effect or whatever. That’s fine. However multiple times I saw heavy steam indicating the tool was very hot. And the dryer burned my scalp multiple times because it was so hot. I will say that she did a great job with the cut itself and I have no complaints about that at all. Towards the end of the visit I saw what could have been her family waiting on her just staring back there. She “styled” my hair by curling my bangs back and that was it. Didn’t ask if I wanted it straightened or curled or anything. At this point I was ready to just leave. I know she probably wanted to leave for the day herself and taking on another stylists clients can be a bit overwhelming. But I have never in my life felt like I was an inconvenience to a hair salon until today. I didn’t schedule later in the day to make someone’s life worse. I scheduled at that time because that is what worked with my personal schedule. I felt forgotten about and rushed and like I needed to hurry up and get out of there. I wasn’t going to make a review but it was a bad experience and I saw similar reviews on here as well. Just be cautious when booking with the salon. With the price as high as it is, your experience should be great (like it was the last several times I had visited an Ulta salon). If I wouldn’t have needed it done before the weekend I would have went elsewhere after I was asked twice if I could move the time up.

Absolutely awful customer service!!! I was in the store for 10-15 minutes. I was NEVER greeted, never asked if I needed assistance or anything! I hadn’t been in the store in a while so I wasn’t sure where anything was. I was clearly searching for something and walked by several employees (none of which acknowledged me or asked if they could assist). I spent over $100 in the store only because I needed the products I came in for before leaving town. Ultra will not receive anymore of my business!!! Ridiculous!After reading other reviews I’m wondering if the discrimination is racially motivated. Seems a lot of brown people had the same experience as I did. I may take this further and report them! It’s 2023….this has got to STOP!!!!

Kristi was amazing! Truly, the only stylist that has ever asked me what I wanted and not suggested what they thought was best. I love the cut and finally found a real stylist in Louisville. Only took 5 years, LOL

Do they not put perfume testers bottles out anymore? I went in looking to buy a nice perfume but wanted to compare the smell of a few before making my final choice. Every one of the testers was locked up behind glass with all the bottles for purchase. I stood there while several employees walked by and was never offered help.

I’m not usually greeted when I walk in the store, but today I was greeted as soon as I walked in. A lady helped me with face moisturizer and Hailey helped me with some hair products! They were very helpful and polite!

I bought cosmetics for the first time here, but the casher name Sonay asked if my phone number was registered and said no. Then she didn't even ask me for my consent, she asked for the phone number of the person standing next to the register and she gave my points to her. It was very unpleasant and this will be my last visit to this shop.
