They did not have any hard candy which is what I went for. They had old school candy bars except no Fith Avenue. They did have the pear Jelly Belly's....yea! ? I wanted to try a Jelly belly marked as one of their favorite but she said there was no way to get out one so I could sample...whatever! So I rate you a 4 and that is because the chocolate was very good!

Inviting helping staff along with a large selection of candy for a smaller looking store. Been here a few times and always worth the visit. If you're an out of towner visiting Louisville I would recommend this place for your sweet tooth.

Neither I nor my partner really have much of a sweet tooth, but we still love making the Sweet Spot Candy Shoppe a regular stop on our Bardstown Road strolls all the same. There's always something unique to try! We've found "vintage" candies as well as Harry Potter treats that we can't get elsewhere, and the flavours of cotton candy are just wild. Most of all, we like the locally made truffles, chocolates, cordials, etc. in the display case. This is the place to go for sweets & treats in the Highlands.

One of the best spots to go to for a sweet street. I would highly recommend the peppermint patty and chocolate covered s’mores. They also had very nice bourbon fudge which was very tasty.

This is such a great place for the Highlands to have and I'm glad it's been embraced. The Sweet Spot could be considered Louisville's answer to Rocket Fizz, the candy 'n' soda chain that grew like a weed in the 2010s - usually in downtown districts or other neighborhoods known for walkable nightlife. The Sweet Spot is less edgy (you won't find any "Fidel Castro's Havana Banana" soda here) but just as delightful for all ages - perhaps most of all for the adults who are fresh off a "Kentucky High-5" from Against the Grain down the street. Whether you're after regular packaged candy or the fancy glass-counter offerings, you'll find that the selection here is well above average. The staff is terrific and the prices really aren't bad for a specialty store like this. My favorite part is the soda cooler, which is reasonable at two bucks a bottle and contains some genuinely unexpected regional favorites. A visit to The Sweet Spot is your chance to finally try Double Cola in a glass bottle, enjoy a taste of Kansas City with some Atomic Fizz, or embrace your inner Evansvillian with some West Side Water (a.k.a. Ski). If you start regularly walking Bardstown Road, you just might find yourself visiting The Sweet Spot more than you expect. A true delight.

I attempted to get into contact with this location about my experience via their website, but no one ever responded to me, so I decided just to go ahead and post a review. This happened about a year ago now, so hopefully the issue has been resolved. Me and my family vacation in Louisville every year to see extended family, and last year I was really excited to take my candy loving partner to this sweet shop, as my family has shopped here many years with expansive selection and friendly staff. However, this time did not go over very well.We were the first in the store this day, and it was fairly quiet and empty except for us and a young teenage boy worker with glasses. Upon entering the store, he didn’t seem to notice us and later confirmed this stating he hadn’t heard the door. After he did however he came up to me and my partner and asked candidly, if we liked “dark or racist jokes” which I replied with a hasty no, and then asked if they had a candy my mother liked. He told us the joke anyway which made it sound as if the teller was saying a racial slur. I thought he may read the uncomfortable atmosphere and leave us alone, but he did not and instead followed us around and explained that he “wasn’t racist” and continued to tell “dad jokes.” At this point I was really uncomfortable and wanted to leave, so I put down the candy I planned to buy for my parents, just bought a push pop for my partner, since he was having a bad day and left. I haven’t been back since. If this employee still works at this store they need to have a serious conversation about customer service etiquette. I’ve worked in the industry for 5+ years and have never even thought of saying things like that to a customer.
