I used to be a regular at this place because it's super close to my house but I refuse to go here anymore.
On Tuesday I was going to take a friend for a hike and went here for snacks beforehand. When we walked in I told her it was my favorite convenience store. We were chatting and shopping for snacks, carrying sodas in our hands and the "sales manager" (I think that's what her name tag said?) came up to me and told me I need to take my "backpack up to the register". Backpack as in my purse that has two straps on the back, not a school backpack. I was shocked and felt like she was treating me and my friend like we were stealing. I told her I wasn't doing that and I was really embarrassed to be called out like that for no reason.
I get it your location is by st x so you probably do get school kids shoplifting but thats not my fault. I'm not leaving my valuables at the front door for anyone to steal them because your store has a security problem. Honestly if this is your policy I hope your location closes.
Edited to note that she also had the audacity to try and upsell me on candy and other items at the register after essentially accusing me of stealing.

As the closest gas station to me, this place gets a ton of my business. It's nice having a convenience store a 4 minute walk away. However, they have a serious problem with labor/scheduling. Past about 8, you just never know when they're going to be open.
It's so frustrating to finally summon the energy to run and grab something later at night only to show up to locked doors with paper taped to them that says "closed." Sometimes, they'll be on break, and there will be a crowd of 8 or 9 people standing in front of the doors just waiting or leaving in frustration.
Also, I feel like they've been having problems with stock recently. There are times I've come in over the past few months where like 80% of their drinks are sold out. They haven't had ZYN for a few weeks now. They don't make many breakfast options in the morning anymore. Being acquired by 711 also displaced all of the Speedway branded snacks I really liked.
Finally, they basically don't have a public bathroom. They usually have some kind of newspaper rack blocking the hallway to them lately. They've always been really rough bathrooms though.
In a nutshell, it's a convenient location with some pretty inconvenient little quirks.

Hah, I stopped here at 8:30 on a Saturday. Every item in the cappuccino machine was out. All of the liquid creamer was out, both tubs and machines. It wouldn't be worth commenting on for a tiny Indian-owned gas station but Speedway has a really decent spread for coffee. I wasn't even angry - I was amused at how absolutely zero effort was put in to get that (normally nice) coffee station ready for this morning.

Usually I have to problem using the restroom here..I'm a city driver. But u got that 1 person that will tell u know. I rather all stay on the same page so you don't waste time even goin in. I will not be giving any of my money there no more. Not that it makes a difference. But especially as a female a person could be on there period or anything u just don't know, and if it wasn't for us then some wouldn't even make it to work in the first place. A person might even be on water pills. I could see if I was a homeless person!!!! So thanks to the lady at 6.50 am this morning 10/1/23. Passengers thought I was playing because they was like, how is it that a female tell another female that she can use the restroom knowing that being one all that yall deal with...smile

This store is poorly staffed which means that the current employees are always in a bad mood and run into the ground. The products that are advertised are either never available, either because the manager "forgot to do the order this week" or because the employees don't have time or motivation to prepare them. The hot food section is completely empty despite there being a sign posted about every two feet inside the store touted their special on their new spicy pizza. The clerk said she doesn't have time to be a baker and a cashier. I offered to take it unbaked so that I could just do it myself when I got home. I was told that she couldn't do that either because she didn't have time to go back to the snack shop area to get it for me. Maybe if you don't have the products available don't put signs up allover the store advertising them! And when customers ask for the advertised products, don't roll your eyes and make excuses and act like it's such a big inconvenience for you to actually do your job. Not a good experience here at all.

Saturday, May 27... The lady working was sitting outside smoking. I understand, everyone deserves a break and lunch. The speedway worker would tell customers, she was on break. She would tell one customer she was on a 30 minute break, more customers would pull up and she would tell them 45 minutes. I sit there over an hour needing gas, because I only had cash on me.Management needs to fix this. I don't blame the young lady worker by herself.MANAGEMENT, is the problem..Whomever owns this business/franchise needs to fire the manager and find someone willing to act like Management... This is unacceptable. This store lost several thousand dollars worth of sales in, gas, food, lottery tickets, food, ect...Just so the lady could take her break. There's plenty of surveillance to backup my store. 9:30pm to 10:30pmHopefully some changes are made. I personally would hate to see another good gas station go out of business, due to poor Management.
