A nice park in my neighborhood. This reminds me of the city parks I grew up with in my hometown. But when folks in Louisville talk about parks....they tend to talk about the MASSIVE, Olmsted-y, woodsy parks. But these smaller neighborhood parks are just a great, in different ways. This is a generously sized plot of park. Encircled by a paved loop, with every amenity one would expect from a park. Pavilions, playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, a community center, benches, picnic tables, and open green space! I like it and I visit it often.

My daughter and I stopped in hair today to visit see Shelby Park a little bit with here with a few other places she liked it we had a good time got out walked around she played on the playground a little bit and it's really nice looking little part of nice little toys and games and activities for kids to play and it's right in the heart of town so good little spot parking is not very good unfortunately that's the only thing I'm sad that the nice little park in the loop can walk around in I'll go back

If you live in Louisville then you likely know that Shelby Park is a neighborhood approximately two miles southeast of downtown. But, it seems a lot of people, including those from, or who live in, Louisville, do not know that the neighborhood is named for a park located there (Shelby Park!) that was named for Kentucky's first governor, Isaac Shelby. And the park is great! It has basketball courts, tennis courts, a picnic shelter and table, benches, a playground, public restrooms, a splash pad, a walking track, and the new PNC Music Garden is located here! It's a great place to relax and reflect; to walk, jog, or run; to play basketball or tennis; to come on a casual outdoor date or with your family to picnic; or to bring pets or kids to play; plus, so much more! Shelby Park is part of the Olmsted Parks Conservancy. It's a 16-acre park that was designed by the Olmsted Firm in 1907 and it is the only park in Louisville designed in conjunction with a Carnegie library. How cool is that?! If you haven't been out to Shelby Park I highly suggest you check it out! From time to time events are hosted here as well, such as The Flea Off Market and Hal & Ben's Bike-In. I definitely recommend keeping this spot on your radar for awesome spring, summer, and fall activities!

People do great work at this community garden. They have perimeter plots to share with the neighbors.

New frames are installed. Ask Erin for beds to plant. Come work the soil and plant. Such good work ... and tasty, too.
