We contracted SB Home in 2021/2022 for a master bedroom, bath and laundry room renovation. The price point seemed high but the company came highly recommended so we unfortunately did not do our due diligence with multiple bids. That’s on me.
Admittedly, the planning and construction process went well. SB home and their contractors were in constant contact and professional. Unfortunately, problems began shortly after project completion.
Right away, there were noticeable electrical issues. Their team came back to our house at least 3 times to evaluate the problem, each time failing to properly inspect the wiring and blaming LED light bulbs and ceiling fans. These were replaced without improvement. The process went on over months. Finally, I got three different private electricians to evaluate and each immediately figured it out and were all in agreement that the wiring was done poorly. It cost over $1,000 with one of them to finally remedy the issue.
Second major issue is the floor tile. Grout was old and needed to be redone immediately. At the same time, tiles were replaced as they were not lying flat. This was covered by the warranty. Shortly after it expired, though, we noticed cracking in the floor tile. We had this replaced by a different company hoping it was a one off but just this past week we’ve noticed numerous additional cracks in additional tiles. We are in the process of having this re-evaluated by another flooring company but my suspicion is we will have to tear up the entire floor to be redone given this will be the third time it has had to be repaired in under three years.
These are my two largest complaints. Numerous other issues have cropped up in and out of their one year warranty including PEX plumbing ripping off the walls needing to be reattached, an unrelated leak spilling into the wall, installed ceiling fan falling out of the ceiling, one pocket door needing to be re-hung as it was not level, now that same pocket door locking mechanism broken already and another pocket door which is so tight within the wall it requires significant effort to close and will not do so smoothly. Overall, I am very disappointed in the experience given the significant investment in the renovation. Superficially, the work looks great but functionally it has all the qualities of a poorly done flip.

SB Home Renovations has just completed adding on a new sunroom and screened-in lanai. The entire project was done with great professionalism and timeliness. The project was finished in 2.5 months, which was earlier than expected. Our project manager, Travis, expedited things along quickly, resolved issues promptly and always took the time to explain everything to us. The entire crew of contractors and the office staff are fabulous to work with. Don't waste your time and get frustrated with other remodelers. Call SB Home Renovations for a quality job!

SB Home provided just what I wanted in my bathroom addition! The team that worked on it were professional, courteous and listened to what I wanted done. The team manager, Nick, kept me informed on the schedule and progress throughout the remodel. He was available when I had questions and he also made me feel comfortable with the entire process. I enjoyed meeting each professional that worked on the addition, Mike, who framed it up, Chico, who did a great job on the drywall, Steve, installing the light switches and lights, Damen, Carl and Sam with US Plumbing that got the main reason I did this remodel done just as I hoped, Matt, who did a fantastic job on the finishing trim and finally Mark who did the painting!I highly recommend SB Home Renovations to you and hope you have as good of an experience as I did! It was well worth the investment, which was a good value, and the time it took to complete the work, all within the scope of what I originally contracted for with Steve!Service: Remodelling

I called them to get a quote on enclosing a recently constructed back deck. They set up an appointment, the nice gentleman was on time, and the discussion was exactly what I was looking for. Then I got the quote. It was about double what I thought it would be, and all the options we discussed him pricing out were not included. I responded immediately and asked some follow up questions on the price, and received no response (it's been about a month, so I think the ship has sailed). I asked a friend and she said this often happens when someone doesn't want to do a job, that they over quote you. That makes me sad, I just wish they had given me an honest quote and then told me if they couldn't schedule me because the job was too _________. (Insert whatever made them over quote - too small, annoying?) So my only advice would be to ask before scheduling if there are only certain sizes of jobs they are accepting?

WOW! If you are looking to upgrade your home look no further than SB Home Renovations! A complete home renovation can be stressful under the best of circumstances. Doing a complete renovation during a global pandemic with three children under six has the potential to be down right miserable! However, Brian and the team from SB made it almost painless! Even enjoyable! Despite the quarantine Brian finished AHEAD OF SCHEDULE and ON BUDGET! The finished product was absolutely breathtaking! For a detailed review, keep reading!SB was the first company we interviewed and we were ready to hire them on the spot! However, given the scope of our remodel (complete kitchen remodel, removing two load bearing walls, the addition of a master bath, walkin closet and outdoor concrete pad) I knew we had to interview additional contractors. After interviewing at least 7 contractors it became clear that SB Home Renovations was the right choice.Most contractors were vague, and offered little direction and insight. Lot's of "sketches" and "drawings" on notepads, wild ideas and rough estimates followed by "give or take" a few bucks.We wanted profesional drawings and plans with a thorough and itemized budget. After our first exploratory consult we were emailed computer drawings (potential kitchen layouts) the very next day. There were no "napkin drawings", "rough ideas" or "trust me it will look great"! We knew exactly what our new kitchen would look like. We don't do this every day, we didn't need a contractor with more questions than answers. We needed professional counsel coupled with our input to come up with the best options possible.SB even has their own in house designer, truly a game changer! Casey will guide you step by step through the design of your new space. Her style and taste is second to none! Not one of the contractors we interviewed had in house designers and they certainly didn't offer to take us around town to select the very best in cabinets, countertops and other furnishings (while adhering to our budget). I can't stress the importance of this enough. Unless you are a designer, you don't want to do this on your own! Casey utilizes her relationships with the best vendors in Louisville to ensure you get the best products at the best price while narrowing down the myriad of options available to you. This ensures your kitchen, bathroom and home will be truly custom! SB doesn't do big box store, cookie cutter designs!Brian (our project manager) was exceptional. He would not accept anything less than perfect. Brian would identify and fix issues we as homeowners would never have noticed. He fixed them because it was the right thing to do. At Brian's insistence, our floors were refinished multiple times (at no cost to us) to ensure they were perfect. Brian anticipated our needs and fixed problems before we had a chance to bring them up. Sub contractors were managed masterfully and he never once missed a deadline! This despite taking extra safety precautions to ensure his team as well as my family was safe during the pandemic.Before starting this project "everyone" told me add six weeks and thousands or dollars to whatever your contractor quotes. I was told this was just part of doing business. I heard horror stories of contractors that wouldn't show up for days and when they did it was only to ask for more money or explain why they were behind schedule and over budget! THIS WAS NOT THE CASE WITH BRIAN AND SB Home Renovations!SB is the only contractor and renovation service I will ever use!

The SB Home Renovations team helped us finish our basement on schedule, on budget, and with very few headaches. I can enthusiastically recommend them (and have!) to family, friends, etc. If you are looking for a fairly priced, professional, and truly talented and kind team, look no further than SB. They were fantastic, and should we need work done in the future, we'll be calling them again.

I was wanting to get estimates to budget my project. They came out, did their thing. The follow up drawing didn't really match my expectations because their was an entire room unaccounted for that I wanted renovated. I thought maybe my mistake in communicating what my desire was so I invited them back so we could get on the same page. Designer then proceeded to miss that appointment and I had to reach out to her to find out what the issue was. Long story short after expressing my frustration about the lack of professionalism they decided they didn't want my business because "it's not common for us to make multiple trips to someone's house before establishing a budget". How do you get a budget when the original drawing didn't include everything?

Just a class organization all the way around and top-notch craftsmanship. They installed a new front door with sidelights, a stamped/colored concrete porch and built a cover over the porch. It looks fantastic - we get compliments daily. A special shoutout to Brian and Paul, two of the most patient and thorough professionals I’ve ever worked with. Looking forward to our next project with these guys and gals!

was very much impressed with the professionalism and timeliness construction done by SB Renovations. We did a complete master bath remodel and everything turned out FANTASTIC and exactly as I imagined. The day with an interior designer (shout out to Casey Danzinger Ernst) was a major plus in deciding to go with SB. She was helpful and knowledgeable and made the decision making process go much smoother than had we done it by ourselves. Paul, our project manager, was fantastic to work with!! He was very prompt with constant communication of the job and working/dealing with the contractors. He gave us a timeline at the beginning of the project and stuck to it the entire job which was a 4 week process (WOW!!!). All in all, we would highly recommend SB Home Renovations and look forward to using them again for future projects in our home! My bathroom is my favorite room in the house!! Great job Stephen Danzinger and SB team!!
