This place is appalling. I love to go to Joanns and see all the new arrivals for decor while shopping for my crafting supplies. And while I go occasionally, this place is a mess. When I talked to the checkout clerk about it, I was told they were short staffed and cutting hours for those working!. They have an abundance of boxes to be unloaded, and the isles are a dump. What is out on the shelf is cute, but this place is not up to its usual standards. What happened?!

Replace the flickering lightbulbs before you give everyone a seizure. It has been 3 years worth this issue. I cannot even shop in this store anymore.

What’s happening in here. I came in for a couple Valentine’s Day items. It’s not even up! I saw some still in boxes to get displayed. In fact there is so little on shelves and BOXES EVERYWHERE!!!! I looked for some fabric and boxes and boxes.

There are never enough employees working here lately. There’s usually only one person at the front register, with a huge line. There’s always big stacks of boxes of product in the aisles that haven’t been put away, and dozens of items out of stock. Thinking about finding a new fabric shop to frequent if it’s going to continue being like this.

went to Joann on Shelbyville rd, Louisville, KY. went in for fabric to make a tie blanket for senior night. Ask for a 4x7 cut, stated she could only cut once, which was fine. so I asked to just cut it bigger and I'll cut it down. she looked at me stupid, then ignored me and start stacking other fabrics. she was very unhelpful and an unhappy person. I will not be going back to this store. I will continue to go to hobby lobby where they are nice and helpful. thats what I get for trying something new.

I'm convinced this Joann's local is now a disguised entrance to purgatory, and all the employees are trapped there; tortured by how customers can enter the discomfort and leave, but they cannot. Their time under the many aggressively flickering lights makes them grow more sallow and sickly by the day and the empty shelves and stacks of unpacked product only emphasizes the hopelessness in the eyes of the few poor employees. The toilet is perpetually gross but not dirty enough to complain about and the organization system is often senseless. Like I said, purgatory.

This store has gone so far downhill!!! When I was there 2 days ago, it was atrociously messy and disorganized, not to mention the many empty shelves and hooks. I guess that is because the entire back of the store and many aisles are filled with boxes upon boxes of what I assume is unopened merchandise. The store was also filthy and looked like nothing has been cleaned in months, if not years. I hope they are able to turn things around soon.

Since I don't craft (well, aside from beer), I can only review this from the point of view of a husband who takes his sewing/knitting/quilting/embroidering wife to Joann when she's got a project in the works. This location is enormous and generally well stocked. Some times "well stocked" equates to "stuff in the aisles or crammed near an endcap", but it's with the goal of making as much product available and as easy to find as possible.Wifey is usually able to find what she needs (or a reasonable facsimile) at this store and it's not uncommon for us to spend several/many hours trying to find that fabric or crafty doo-dad that will make her craftery awesome. My lot in life in these cases is to provide some creative in put, help find the perfect fabric or accessory, and to push the cart. The staff here is 100% helpful. We've been here many times and it doesn't matter who you ask, they know where it is or what you need. Since she's on the Joann mailing list she's always got coupons on her phone for something or other. Quite often what she's looking for is on sale, so #BONUS.There are aisles in this store that I have never been down. Seriously. Picture framing? Buttons and Bobbins? Upholstery? Wood crafting? Yea, none of that's me. If you're a crafterer (I make up a lot of words), this place is 100% what you need.

This store is unbelievably disorganized! Whatever you look there's so much clutter. The staff is not very helpful either. Most of them are young with a "couldn't care less" attitude, and ALL of them look extremely annoyed. What's going on at this location??? Whoever is managing this store needs to step it up or step aside...It's a shame...

Went in to purchase two frames and other small crafting items. The lady in the frame area was so sweet and helpful and so was the lady helping me in fabrics. That's where the goodness ends. Besides the store being very cluttered, the person that checked us out was extremely rude and snotty. I had a coupon to use and when it didn't work she gave no explanation just looked at me with a blank stare. When I noticed the amount was not deducted from the total she started laughing at me for asking questions about why the coupon was not deducted. She then started making faces at me and laughing more as I continued asking her about the coupon. I had to finally walk away and get someone else to help me. I don't think I will be back to this location. I'd rather go to Michael's or Hobby Lobby next time.

Rude lady who works there became angry because she thought I took the fabric she had just placed then proceeded to tell me you better move out of the way before you get hit in the head by the 3 things of fabric I just placed,( do better) and I couldn't use my in-store coupons i was told that I already found good deals,( i bought regular priced items) this use to be a great store

What is with this new fabric layout? It's so weird and doesn't make a bit of sense. Why is what people come in for the farthest away? I get the idea of "they will buy more if they have to work for it" but when you can't find what you want when you don't have the time to browse the entire store, you walk out.The management are rude and unprofessional and some of the employees aren't much better. I used to love this Joann's but now it just seems a shame that THIS is the only option to what HANCOCKS used to be. Well jokes on them because Michaels owns HANCOCKS now and I can go online for them

One star for appalling staffing. The store is messy, restocking is non existent, boxes everywhere, aisles blocked by stuff, patterns strewn here and there. I've been there 3 times since arriving in Louisville, the first time I needed to check a pair of scissors the cutter serving at the back was slow and I mean slow. I tried to be patient but after three visits trying to purchase sewing goods I had had it. Clean up your act, get more staff and make your store safe it's absolutely disgusting! why would any dressmaker worth their salt even bother.
