We recently had a terrifying even with our dog, Buddy. He was playing outside near a creek and was impaled by a stick in the chest while jumping around. We immediately brought him to Jefferson Animal Hospital and they were amazing. The team was quick to act and very kind to us and Buddy in such a stressful time. They kept him overnight for a small surgery to assess for bleeding, fix his muscle, and stitch him up.They do require a $250 deposit upon arrival for emergencies, which is totally understandable. I would have gladly paid anything to make sure Buddy was okay. We are so thankful for this place!

My dog Penny had become extremely ill in the last stages of diabetes i rushed her to Jefferson Animal Hospital and DR Sarah Cheever and the entire crew at the hospital helped my baby pass on very peacefully. They went above and beyond. I highly recommend this hospital

I will never take my dogs to this place ever again!! IDO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!There is no compassion from anyone at this place. All they want is your money!!They want 250.00 deposit even before your dog is seen. Then before they do any X-rays or blood work they want another 400.00 deposit. Then they don't explain in detail of the cost. Then when your done with the visit and check out they want another 300.00.Very very sad!!The ones at the front desk are very rude!!

Very dismissive, tried pawing us off to another clinic far away while we live nearby. Our 12 week old puppy was literally dieing with a 105 degree fever, vomiting non stop, and couldn’t stand or open his eyes. These emergency clinics have lost their way, literally every single one of them. Their price gouging is also even worse than the human hospitals. I got a whole MRI with contrast and no insurance for $500 recently for myself. Don’t come here

Top notch service. Everyone from who took my calls to the Dr. Was beyond amazing!!! I was there with two pets in 8 days that haddisappointed. Rainbow bridge and their care and passionate service was amazing. Communication was so good. I love that they take critical patients first. That is so important. This will be my go too place for emergencies! Give them a try you won't be dissapointed.

The vet & vet techs we met today went above and beyond to make a bad situation better. We arrived with my cat who had a urinary blockage and they diagnosed the problem within minutes and immediately told us our options. They were expensive , but also very understanding that their prices might not be doable and gave us multiple options at different price points. Regardless of payment , the workers here did an amazing job of keeping us calm and collected and taking great care of our baby. My kitty is alive today because of them and I couldn’t be more thankful for that.

I understand my dog being sore around where she had surgery, but not other places. Seems like more happed when they were putting her under for the surgery. I did not like how they cared her out to me like she was a toy. They also did things I did not ask for but I payed the bill and was not happy.

After taking my cat here to get emergency treatment for sudden seizures, the best they could offer me was an anti seizure medication and antibiotics. More over, none of the employees seemed to have any empathy for what was going on and only seemed to care about how I was going to pay for everything. They constantly were changing topics of conversation, didn’t seem to have any straight answers to give me, and were very insistent on only talking to me about price plans and cost. They charge a deposit fee of almost $700 dollars when other E-vets I’ve visited after the fact charge less than $100. Because of their outrageous pricing and consistent uncertainty of treatment and its respective outcomes and my cats worsening condition, I was given no choice but to put my cat down at a different animal hospital. I expect more from people whose entire line of work is solely based around keeping people’s best friends alive and healthy, but sadly this wasn’t that case from them.

Our dog button was seen on 1.1 - for stroke like symptoms. They said it was an eye wound- and charged additional fees for being there an a holiday. Today they said more tests and additional $1000 - we have no idea what’s going on & they did not offer any options. Button is a family member. The service was in addition to the $400. They did not offer any payment optionsThey only care about $$$ not taking care of the animals. DevastatedUpdate DR Taylor reached out to work with Button

First of all, for everyone complaining about how rude the staff is are all out of their minds. I’m not great with names, forgive me, but I remember faces and let me tell you every single face I saw the last two times I needed to take my baby, Pikachu, in for emergencies belonged to the most kindest and generous souls in there. My baby boy was suspected to have lymphoma but unfortunately with our budget, we couldn’t afford to send anything out for testing but while trying to stay in our budget we were still able to get treatment and meds for him. He responded well and the swelling in his neck/lymph nodes went down but after about a week in a half he took a turn for the worst and we had to make the tough decision and put him to sleep. Everyone was so kind and answered all of our questions and even suggested sedating him before the euthanasia just to help calm him down. I asked if I could be with him while he was being sedated and with no hesitation we were told that was completely okay and he was brought in the room with us. They sedated him first but apparently the sedation was enough to finally let me baby relax and he passed away in our arms while the staff let us have the room to ourselves so we could say our goodbye. They never once rushed us, helped us out through the process and even drew a cute design on his little box. The vet was amazing and she even remembered Pikachu and it helped her confirm more that it was lymphoma due to all the signs and swelling. Everyone who handled him pet him and showed immense compassion and even though we weren’t able to heal him, we chose an amazing place to help him cross over the rainbow bridge. Was it pricey? Of course it was but was vet isn’t?? I noticed they had MULTIPLE postings all around the office about a payment plan option they have or even other options like care credit but from what we experienced the price was always discussed prior to what they wanted to be done and not once did they shame us! They all focused on the issue presented at hand and tried their best to help us and him, even if the end result wasn’t the most desirable, it was for the best and I’ll be forever grateful I chose this place to help take care of him during his last stages in life. Thank you to the staff, especially the night shift staff ❤️ I especially appreciate the lovey ink prints we received and plan on getting them tattooed on me in remembrance of my little Pikachu. We’ll be forever grateful for you all and appreciate the amazing support and strength y’all have for helping out us pet parents. ❤️❤️❤️

Called and later went in because my dog ingested mouse poison. I was told three different prices within a 10 minutes timeframe and was ultimately offered a credit card with a line of $5000. You all ought to be embarrassed to call yourselves healthcare professionals. Absolutely disgusting

I called to try and get help for my dog who, i believed, had an intestinal obstruction and needed surgery. And turned away, they told me to go to Lexington. Are you freaking kidding me?!. When did people stop caring? So my dog is just S.O.L and has to suffer because you're hospital doesn't care enough to help him.

This is the second time I took an injured or sick dog to this location. Didn't offer to help me get my pet inside. Both times the wait was anywhere between 8 or 10 hours. Tech said my dog looked stable even though no vitals were taken. Christmas Eve the initial charge for an exam was $265 when I was told $250 on the phone. When I said the wait was too long, suggested I go to another vet. Unless your pet is critical, don't take them here. I have doubts mine will make it thru Christmas.

We had to visit Jefferson Animal Hospital twice this year, with our last visit on Dec 18, 2023. When we arrived both times, they took Sophie straight back and treated her immediately. Unfortunately our sweet girl was very ill and had to be euthanized on her last visit. Dr. Shumar and staff was absolutely amazing and helped us through this tragic time. They allowed us time to be with her, and checked in on her frequently. I would 100% recommend them.
