PSA: discrimination, racism…
I used to love coming to this Hobby Lobby when I lived in Saint Matthews. I stopped in to look at the jewelry section. I grabbed a few things (3 or 4) but ultimately didn’t purchase anything…
The manager kept following me when I went from aisle to aisle. I guess she realized I noticed so she walked away and then another employee started following me throughout the store. I felt uncomfortable which is why I ultimately decided not to buy anything.
As I was walking out of the store the manager very loudly said, “Awww you’re not going to buy any jewelry? What happened to it?” I responded no, it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. She smirked and told the employee next to her (the same one that had been following me) that I probably stole it.
Never in my life has this happened to me. I am very obviously a Hispanic woman but I am light/medium complexioned. I was wearing a basic black top, joggers, my black winter coat and white shoes. I wasn’t disheveled or anything similar. Needless to say, I will not be stepping foot in this store ever again and I would advise women of color against doing so. I valued coming to hobby lobby because of their Christian values so this certainly comes as a disappointment.

Overall, the store was very well organized and very clean. The staff there s well was knowledgeable where most of the products we're at in the store and we're very friendly as well.

Employees are always pretty friendly and helpful. Ive shopped at hobby lobbies all over the city for many many years and I have to say the stock has been pretty much the same stuff the whole time. What I mean by that is that their inventory is pretty stale. They have a large selection of just about everything, but it's all pretty played out in my opinion. One last complaint, well two actually, their music is awful. Bring headphones. Trivial? Maybe, but it's truly cringe worthy. My last complaint, and maybe the most noteworthy, the clearance selection is nothing short of offensive. Everything is broken, or missing parts. Its all unusable and should have just been chucked in the dumpster. The fact that it's offered to customers at a slightly discounted rate makes feel like me and hobby lobby aren't as good of friends as I thought we were, ya feel me?

I love Hobby Lobby. The prices are reasonable and the store is clean. They have an awesome selection for any hobby. From chocolate and donuts to paint and woodworking. They've got everything. The staff is always friendly. It drives me nuts that they're closed on Sundays lol
