Very disappointed by the brand new washer GE had to send someone out he replaced everything but the lid. Their quality is not what it used to be that our parents owned. I will never purchase another GE product again due to the poor quality and workmanship.

I purchased a GE washer and dryer set, thinking the decades-old company had a good reputation. Before the washer was even a year old, rust stains started running down the sides of the drum. I contacted GE customer service and they sent a local appliance repair company to my house. The repairman confirmed the drum was rusting and took pictures for GE. He said the drum should be replaced. GE refuses to do anything, saying the warranty doesn't cover rust. Don't be a sucker; don't buy a GE appliance. BTW: Asked the repairman if they weren't making washers like they used to. He said: "Definitely, no!"

We bought a GE Dryer from our Local Lowes and they delivered and installed it. The dryer broke after two weeks. Lowes has a 30 day guarantee ONLY if you pay with your Lowes card so we had to call GE. They have a 48 hour return policy. If a dryer breaks after two week it is either defective or damaged. GE refused to take it back and gave us a repair date two weeks from away. Then they will only replace it if they can't fix it. I'm in for a life of service calls. I would highly advise that you buy anything BUT a GE appliance. You should also avoid Lowes their policies are unclear and NOT designed to help the consumer.

Spent the morning attempting to buy a 3-pack of refrigerator water filters on the website. When you call the company it urges you to use the website for all your needs since it's faster than waiting on hold. OK, five attempts to buy the water filters, five error messages that credit card validation failed. Quick chat with my bank says that there are no problems with the card. In fact, GE sent inquiries to them but there were no declines. A call to a GE phone agent yielded the advice to wait an hour and try it again on another device. OK, about 90 minutes later I'm on my other computer. Another validation failure per the website. This time I start an online chat with an agent named Emmanuel who in a burst of honesty admits that his fellow agents have been complaining about this same problem for over a year due to being swamped with customer complaints. GE has yet to fix it, I don't think it's a question of a multinational corporation not having the scratch to pay an IT dept. (or even on tech) to fix the site, To me this means that, at least for refrigerator filter purchases, they WANT customers to do it over the phone. Maybe they see it as an opportunity to cross or up sell. Maybe these water filters they keep perpetually on sale are loss leaders. Why not make a few extra bucks to show a profit, might be the thinking. Who knows? When it comes to business, there's usually a conscious intent behind any action or inaction. What I do know is that from now on I'll pay the higher price of buying a single filter in a big box store. Why? Because I don't like giving my payment info over the phone. Just found these filters on Amazon in the GE Store. Not surprisingly, my credit card was immediately validated and the sale went through.

Bought new washer and dryer 4 months ago. Since the first load it has had problems and after having the tech out 4 times and the machine has gotten worse. GE customer care line told me they don't care that my machine doesn't work and as long as they continue to try and make it work they won't take it back, especially now that it's past the 30 day mark. I had to pay someone to come and unhook my washing machine because it will turn itself on in the middle of the night. By itself just start spinning and filling.

One star and heading for four! Obviously, that needs and explanation and here it comes- I moved to Central Florida a few years ago. I live in a very nice condo and eventually needed to replace my dishwasher. I moseyed on over to my appliance store and zeroed in on a GE stainless steel beauty. I was particularly excited because emblazoned all over the box was "Alexa Enabled!" My condo is heavily automated with Alexa. Virtually all my lights, inside and out are automated, Ditto my ceiling fans, garage door, TVs, alarm system, etc. Now I would be able to add my dishwasher! I purchased this bad boy and arranged for installation in a few days. Installation was seamless. The test wash performed perfectly! The installer said Alexa configuration was up to me which I expected. Problem #1- Arrrrgh! Alexa is only enabled if you order a $50 extra module! Was I pissed! I ordered the module, installed it, and since then Alexa has performed seamlessly! Problem #2- At about week two, it failed to start and threw all kinds of error codes. I was beyond annoyed! Internet self-help failed. I arranged for a service call and there was a seven day wait. During those seven days it fixed itself! Go figure! It's been about a year now and it is working wonderfully with absolutely no problems. If you had asked me during month one, I would have said one star. Now, I would say four so I'm going to award three!

We purchased a GE 24in Tall Tub stainless steel dishwasher from Home Depot and was not at all satisficed with the quality. After we had it installed, it leaked into our basement causing several hundred dollars of damage. I reached out to Home Depot to return it but they said it had been over 48 hrs and we would have to have it (a new dishwasher) serviced by GE. All we wanted was a refund but neither Home Depot (who referred us to GE) nor GE (who referred us to Home Depot) would not refund our money. GE did repair the pump on a new dishwasher, but we will never purchase another GE product EVER!

GE warehouse needs serious damage control. The warehouse suffers from lack of communication, people skills, ethics, affective techniques and proper management. The company has a high turnover rate and they seem to be happy about it. If the company incorporated the right tools and effective training they have the potential to be a good company to work for. I really hope that they get it together now or in the future. GE put your money where your employees are.

GE use to be more customer friendly. Hard to find washer dryer pairs even though they are made in Louisville Kentucky. I went with LG !!

i always had a good experience with ge appliances and electronics and the prices have always been reasonable and quality is very good .my very first tv i purchased was a ge and i had it for a long time until i gave it way and the appliances from fridge, washer/dryer, microwave, air conditioner, stove, dishwasher, freezer, radios, etc, have always lasted a long time working in peak form from beginning to end. i just purchased a fridge and stove for my new tenant who is moving in soon and i didnt hesitate which brand to get as its ge without a doubt. overall general electric has been a reliable brand for years and its good enough for me.

This definitely isn't your father's General Electric when the late CEO evangelist Jack Welch was everywhere preaching his Six Sigma gospel managing disparate teams that manufactured everything from locomotives, power turbines and lightbulbs not to mention complex medical devices, microwave ovens and aircraft financing. To his credit, Welch was intolerant of mediocrity either in his products... or his people. Frankly, if you were remodeling, it was a very logical leap that any company turning out locomotives must make a helluva refrigerator. Now, as with most things sourced globally, you can kiss that notion goodbye. Currently, the company is breaking apart into three separate divisions and has long since jettisoned their consumer appliance business to Chinese conglomerate Haier. The GE brand is now a temporary tattoo, randomly slapped on second-tier home appliances that lack the build quality they were once famous for and now, are no better than contractor grade. So please don't be fooled, Jack Welch is spinning like an angry turbine in the underground as we speak. Two very sorry stars.

GE Appliances were always my family's first choice. Later there started buying Sears Kenmore for some reason. My current landlord used to furnish the apartments with GE Appliances. I'm fortunate enough to have the partially renovated apartment. When the landlord renovates these units they use cheaper appliances now. My daughter wishes she had my GE Refrigerator. She had to have her cheap brand replaced once already. For Thanksgiving the food in her refrigerator was freezing. She tried turning it down. I guess our landlord should have stayed with GE. Penny Wise and Pound Foolish they say! I'm recommending GE....(Unless you can get Kenmore, Haha)

It seems that most reviewers are more reactive to their poor experiences with products and customer service and I totally get that - it's tragic when you spend your hard earned dollars only to see the products fail or worst the results of addressing the issue is less than favorable. I think that reviews should expose wrong doings and praise those that excellent but most importantly the final results is really all that matters, I'm sure most of the negativity is reactive and and an outlet to vent their frustrations during the initial phase when the product or services fail or when they experienced less than favorable customer service. I think any issue can be resolved no matter how impossible it may seem if you preserve, maybe the person you initially contacted is the wrong person, maybe there is some step that was missed, regardless you should never accept anything less than an equable solution. I've owned a number of GE appliance over the years and honestly some have disappointed me and others have been an unbelievable value - I personally value my time so I pick and choose my battles, I probably would spend a lot more time addressing issues with my latest GE purchase a GE Profile Opal Ice Maker which is a considerable investment verse a problem I have with a GE can opener that I purchased for a few dollars on sale 10 years ago. If the ice maker dies before it's useful life expectancy regardless of the warranty it's likely I will address it, if the can opener dies oh well I probably won't buy another of the same make and model and move on. Okay I did a lot of due diligence before making this substantial investment and most importantly before I make the purchase I knew what I wanted and I knew what I was buying so the application part is on me. Once I received it I unpacked it to ensure everything was conditionally fine and all the parts were present. I then washed it since this product has direct contact surfaces and while the parts were drying I read the instruction manual I know I know how hard could it be right just fill it and plug it in - nope that's a formula for failure I actually learned the proper operation of this machine instead of winging it and hoping for the best. I admit it's not the most interesting reading material but I now know everything I need to know to set myself up for success and hopefully I won't be one of the reviewers here that can't get any satisfaction. This machine is a high quality technological advanced appliance that I expect to bring me years of enjoyment because that's what I paid for and if it's not this one it will be it's replacement model or the one after that or the one after that. After following the directions, assembly was easy and I was ready for the next step - noooo not making "ice" but to completely sanitize the internal parts, I don't know where these parts have been and since I read the instructions I know this and I know how to complete the initial sanitizing steps as well as the future maintenance of this awesome device. All ice is different and has different applications basically the only things that ice shares in common with the different configurations is that it transfers heat and the more heat you remove from anything the lower it's temperature becomes. Since I purchased this for my camper my main objective is to chill my cocktails and when the drink expires I like to chomp on the ice. This appliance is specifically designed to produce chewable, munch-able ice not the larger nugget ice most of the ice makers on the market make. After running a few test batches I ran a few cycles to do my taste test and had nothing short of amazing results. My agenda here is simple I want plenty of ice, this machine will produce up to 24 pounds a day, I wanted a machine that isn't noisy or distracting, it's rather quiet to operate and I really only hear the ice falling in the bin which is quite pleasing to the ear. I wanted a machine that is esthetically pleasing, dependable and will las
