Dress for Success is a long-standing non-profit that supports career counseling, professional and personal growth and clothing donations for females. One of their major goals is helping women get into the workforce or find the resources she needs to capture another role. Best known for the clothing / suiting program, Dress for Success has a downtown Louisville location as well as a mobile bus that goes into more rural areas. Women can select one outfit from head to toe, including jewelry and shoes, that can be used for interviewing. Many ladies come back for additional outfits once securing a job. I recently attended their annual fundraiser. Their board and team of volunteers secured items for a silent auction. An inspiring presentation was given by a Dress for Success recipient. It was a reminder of what I've taken for granted and how an outfit can make a women more confident when interviewing. First impressions can make or break you. Dress for Success offers several opportunities to donate and volunteer. Men and women volunteer on career services, financial empowerment, sorting clothing and more. Watch for monthly opportunities to donate clothings and accessories.

This is a charitable organization that accepts donations of work attire for women, and helps with clothing and other employment resources for women in need. They are not generally open to the public, but they do have sales once or twice a year to clear out inventory. I got a blouse and a sweater and the good feeling of having helped a worthy organization.

I took the class and it was phenomenal. I think it should become a part of a school curriculum for everyone before they graduate from High School. I felt empowered by all the ladies that taught and I learned a lot from them and made some life long friends.

This is an AMAZING ORGANIZATION!! All my clothes had been ruined by flooding, all I had was a few pieces of every day super casual things. I was looking for employment when I heard about them through a friend of a friend. They set me up and outfitted me for an interview...pants, blouse, shoes, bag, necklace, earrings and even knee highs! Upon my receipt of a job offer, they brought me back in and outfitted me for work, with enough clothing and accessories to stretch for well over a week! I now have an amazing position with one of the area's largest law firms, and I love it! I would never have had this opportunity without Dressed For Success Louisville! Everybody there is exceptionally pleasant and they treat you like the Queen you are!

I literally found Dress for Success by accident one afternoon while wandering around NULU. I was curious and stopped in to see what was going on inside the colorful and welcoming space. I was very impressed to discover that Dress for Success is a non-profit that helps unemployed women with not only job skills but also provides a beautiful, curated wardrobe to wear on their interview and later after they have secured employment. Dress for Success works on a referral basis. They provide an outfit including jewelry, shoes and accessories so that confidence in their appearance is not something these ladies have to worry about. Once a client lands a job they can come back and pick out FIVE - yes FIVE - complete outfits. You can tell from the pics that the shop looks like a high end boutique. It is beautifully laid out and stocked with current styles in like-new condition. Dress for Success accepts like new clothes and shoes one Saturday each month. You can like and follow them on Facebook to find out when you can donate. This place makes my heart happy. I cannot imagine trying to get into the workforce without the proper tools. Dress for Success is one of the best utilized programs I have seen in ages. When clients come in there is a personal shopper to help them coordinate a look suitable for the job they are seeking. I was so impressed. Dress for Success is such a game changer. The offer career counseling, help preparing resume's and so much more. I am so happy to have found them and hope to help spread the work about the vital work they do for our community. Please consider them if you have items that might help a sister get back into the workforce with confidence and style.
