We are from Cincinnati visiting and while walking about and we strolled into this store. I loved the curation of items. We made a purchase of a childrens' toy. When we got it home, unpackaged and we realized a small piece of the toy was missing. After informing them via email bc they were closed, I immediately received a response. She searched the store and even contacted the manufacturer to have the piece shipped directly to me. My son loves this toy. Care and service like this, is why we are happy to spend extra dollars in small business!

Such a lovely shop, perfect for finding unique gifts with the holidays around the corner! Great selection of ethically produced, fair-trade, and refugee-made items. They have an online storefront, as well. Sweet Debbie helped me out today — loved getting to chat with her while I browsed, she’s a beautiful & uplifting soul!

Clay and Cotton is a store I have wanted to visit since I moved to Louisville and I finally walked from our apartment and looked inside. This place is just as cute and unique as it looked on the outside! When entering the store I was cordially greeted by two adorable little pups! The store itself has a loft section and a bottom section. The loft is filled with cute rugs, shoes and pet presents. They have these adorable tents for your dog or cat. They look like the ones I've seen for kids to play in just dog sized! The bottom section has all different types of clothes from brands I've never seen before all beautifully unique and obviously quality made. They had some adorable leather goods as well by one supplier I think I've seen in a couple magazines. Everything is pretty expensive but that's what you expect in a boutique. I love that they have a lot of local vendors and organic recycled material. This is definitely the place to go if you have that friend that's totally GO GREEN! As far as style of the clothes, I would describe it kind of like Anthropologie but smaller brand names. Very trendy, artsy and unique. Not super posh or fancy, which I appreciate. They have great small gift items like soaps, lip balms and beautiful cards so don't just stop if you need a new outfit. The staff was all incredibly accommodating! All and all definitely worth 5 stars!

My daughter stumbled upon the shop after leaving a friend’s house. She told me that she loved the store and that I would too. She was right. From the clothing, to the friendly assistance I received, to the wonderful vibe and energy the experience gave me, I’m sold! Definitely my new favorite place to shop.

Stopped into Clay and Cotton while strolling along Bardstown Rd. The store is chock full of boutique-style home decor, clothing, jewelry, bath and soap items, candles, rugs, and more. One of the co-owners shared the fascinating stories behind some of the the one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces, making the items come to life. As one would expect, these jewelry items have steep prices, but are beautiful pieces for special-occasion gifts or that unique piece for your own collection. I also saw many unique and beautiful home-decor and kitchen serving pieces that would make perfect wedding gifts. I will remember this store when I need to find that perfect gift! There are many Kentucky-themed items that would be exquisite souvenir pieces for tourists! As expected with a Bardstown Rd location, parking can be hit or miss.
