Wish the socks they gave for blood donations were made in USA and not China.

I would not donate here. Rude phlebotomist and cross contamination to sterile suppliesI have donated at the red cross many times before but this will be my last time donating with them. I decided to donate blood at the town mall in Elizabethtown Kentucky, on 07/31/2023 where I always go to donate. Christine was the rudest phlebotomist. I told her that I was a little nervous about donating. She replied THEN WHY ARE YOU DOING IT IF YOU ARE NERVOUS! in a rude tone. I replied to her comment with I don't know, and then she said so you don't know the reason you are donating? After that, she began the phlebotomy process. She was having a hard time figuring out my vein. Which is okay because sometimes I can be a hard stick. Before she cleans my venipuncture site, my finger moved, and she screams at me not to move any. After she stuck me, she had to dig/fish around until she got a flash. The needle was so far in my arm that you hardly could see any part of the actual needle. She began to yell to make sure you're doing your squeezes, which I was. The flow was slow because the needle was not in my arm right and if she would have adjusted the needle, it would probably would have gone faster. She then wanted me to turn my wrist outwards, which I did, and it made the needle feel like it was going to poke out the other side of my arm, which hurt. I tried to keep my wrist turn the way she wanted. Every time my wrist would turn a little to the other way, she would yell KEEP YOUR WRIST TURNED! repeatedly. She finally came over to fix my flow. The only thing she did was rip the piece of tape off and immediately slammed it back on and walked away. A part of the time i of donating she was on her phone staring down. After I finished donating, she did not give me any aftercare instructions or tell me how long to leave the wrap on. After my donation I was so scared and shaky because of the way I was treated.I also watch her set up a machine where she let the needle and other sterile supplies hit the ground. She also went from touching my needle to touching the machine that she was preparing for the next donor. This was an extremely bad experience and I won't go back or tell anyone to donate here. I'm actually scared to go donate anywhere else because I don't want to be treated badly like I was here.Christine should not have blamed me for her bad stick and yelled at me for it.And just because you are nervous about doing something does not mean you should not do it. Christine didn't seem to care if people donate life saving blood.

I took a CPR/AED course, and it was exactly what I expected. Very informational and I feel confident that if I need to use either of these, I will be ready to go. I thought the instructor did an excellent job and answered any questions that we had. I think this is certainly the best choice for CPR instruction in the Louisville area. Plenty of parking on the side and they have times that fit my schedule.

I gave blood at Immaculate Conception Church on October 29th. Everyone was nice , but the two young ones that stood out for me with niceness and caring were Gabe and Riza. They made my experience pleasant!

I have been donating blood for 40+ years. I had mostly gone to blood drives at various locations around the city or to mobile units. But recently I have been going to the donation center downtown. I always make an appointment and fill out my rapid pass on line prior to arrival. So once I get there it is a pretty easy process with little wait time. When I gave blood this week my appointment was for 2:15 and I was off the table and in the cantina within 25 minutes. Such a small amount of time to help someone in need. The staff are always friendly and efficient, eager to answer any questions I may have or to just chat. Parking is free in the side lot and it gets you downtown to explore all the wonders of our city once you are done. I encourage everyone to start donating today to help save lives.

I'm sure there's a lot going on inside this building besides blood donations, but the public-facing side of it is the central wing of Louisville's primary source for blood and plasma. If you see a bloodmobile in your area, by all means, take advantage of the mobile drives. But don't discount the idea of making your own trek to the home base. You won't quite feel like you're in the lobby of the 21c, but they get the job done, and I think donating at the main branch is usually easier and faster than at one of the mobile units. The office could use a serious facelift but I'm gonna hope they are choosing to better compensate their staff in lieu of making the place more handsome. One thing is certain -- the staff here are pros and they work hard. They are on their feet all day. They can't afford to skip steps or mess something up. They have to rub elbows with strangers the whole time. This is a tough job. And I've always been treated well. Parking is free. So are the snacks. Tip your tech with kindness.

DO NOT SCHEDULE APPTMT ON LINE!!! I have twice signed up, completed the Rapid Pass and then gone to the Hubbard's Lane center only to be very rudely sent away because they don't accept appt booked on line. The option should be removed of it is not being used; they don't answer the phone so you can't make appts that way; they don't accept walk ins. I want to donate blood to help people for free. Perhaps the blood banks that buy blood are run better.
