Expensive, but worth every penny. The vets and staff are the most caring I’ve had. I trust them implicitly!!!

I have gone to SVH since 1984 and over the years I have taken 3 of my furry companions to SVH, a golden retriever and 2 cats for care.I cannot tell you how compassionate they were as they did everything they could possibly do to care for my companions. My latest companion (cat) had been with me for over 15 years. Throughout the years he developed several medical issues including diabetes. His last illness was just too much for him and they were so compassionate with him and me as the helped him cross the rainbow bridge. Their love and care for my companions AND ME means so much.Dr. Millie Hardigree and the everyone at SVH truly care and I will be forever grateful to them for the care they have given my furry companions and me.

My cat had a wound on his scruff randomly, then he decided to scratch at it until he bled! The staff at Southland Vet helped him out. My cat would prove to be extra pesky and found new ways to dig at his wound. I was very stressed out because I was being diagnosed with blood cancer and I had to get blood transfusions for myself in order to survive. I had no money to take him back to the vet because despite having a very serious disease, my disability was cancelled.I got a care credit card so I took him in ASAP and they put him in the cutest thunder jacket to prevent him from reaching his wound. They gave him meds and cleaned him up. When it came time to pay the bill, someone had already paid it for me and I still can't figure out who paid it! I can only assume someone with Southland Vet paid it, knowing my situation and knowing I was very scared that I would have to surrender my cat because I wasn't able to afford his care.Whoever paid my bill--I wish there were more people like you in the world because I thought I was going to have to surrender my baby and it was tearing me apart. My cat is happy again, and he's all healed up. The best part is that he loves wearing the thunder jacket and it has eased his anxiety. He was hiding all the time but now he's back on my lap. Thank you.

When I lived in Lexington we came here. I remember very much having to have my cat Smudge put to sleep and Dr Hardigree being so helpful and really took in that I was having a hard time. A couple of weeks later she told my mom to bring me over to get a surprise. She had a little black cat for me. When and if I move back I will be going back here

Dr. Hardigree has taken care of my dogs for over 20 years. She has helped me through putting down 3 pets and cried right along with me. I wouldn’t go to anyone else. She is thrilled with the energetic puppies, and compassionate with the senior dogs. I can’t recommend her more highly.

I have taken my dogs to Dr Hardigree and Southland vet for over 25 years. From puppy vaccines to trauma care to geriatric needs the entire staff has consistently provided friendly, professional, compassionate care in state-of-the-art facilities.

I have always taken my dogs to Southland and will not go anywhere else. The staff is friendly and compassionate, and the doctors explain everything clearly and kindly. Wait times are always short and emergencies are handled immediately. My dog died unexpectedly two weeks ago, and the doctor and staff were incredibly patient and caring with me, my husband, and my pup. I recommend Southland Vet to everyone I know, and I’ve always heard great responses and thanks for the recommendation.

Have always taken my sisters dogs here. We go annually for our shots and examine. They do great teeth cleanings and very kind and professional staff. Thank you for taking such good care of all of us.

I've taken both of my pets (dog and cat) here for over 5 years because of how great the veterinarians and staff are. Everyone is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful!

A formerly fantastic vet office that in the last year has reduced their level of care. Do not expect vaccine reminders, follow-up calls to appointments, or correct diagnoses. They won't work well with outside specialists and are generally disrespectful on the phone. There are lots of other vets in Lexington - this one used to be good, but there are much better ones on almost every corner.

Millie is such a sweet and caring vet. She's seen my cat for her wellness exams and has even attended to my mother's dog. The dog had a cyst on her paw that her current vet was unwilling to remove, but Millie had no reservations and was able to remove the cyst with no complications! If she hadn't done that, then it was likely that my mother's dog would have chewed at the cyst until it burst, likely causing an infection. I appreciate all of SVH's hard work!

Dr Hardigree and her assistant Katie S are awesome. My dog had a cyst on her foot that was giving her trouble, Dr Hardigree removed it with no trouble now you can't even tell it was there. Highly recommend Southland veterinary hospital

God help you if you're ever in an emergency, and this was the most recent clinic to have your animals records. Three months ago they made me fight bureaucracy for hours to sell me medicated cat food that keeps him alive. Today I brought my dog in with wounds from an animal attack, and the young lady on the phones made a sassy comment “I read your review online, and I just wanted to make sure you’re at the right clinic.” It’s true! I didn’t make my dog suffer needlessly while coaxing a rude young lady to transfer records to a nicer clinic. She once again held my pet’s care hostage for her own selfish reasons. The young vet tech who brought me my dog back insisted she heard the conversation and acknowledged none of the obvious sarcasm.Owners and management, if you’re reading this, you have an immature young lady managing your front office who treat your customers like a high school nemesis. She has one or more cohorts who back up her sadistic behavior. I know you have good people working there, so I strongly urge you to address that issue. When my dog is done bleeding, I’ll have an opportunity to ask her to transfer records to another clinic, and I expect a tremendous amount of friction.I am Jacob Hatfield

My cat has a rare disease and the vet took the time to find it. Even did a second blood screening at no cost to me. They improved my cats health 1000%!! Forever grateful!
