The entire staff at Pennyroyal is superb in expertise and ability to show compassion for pet owners facing difficult situations and decisions. Each person was kind and caring as we went through the most difficult thing with our bunny. The doctor spoke the truth but also allowed us space to make decisions. The techs were incredibly sweet and caring to us and to our bunny. They sent the kindest sympathy card to us after losing our girl, with heartfelt messages from each staff member. I highly recommend.

I would give a 0 if I could this was the worst experience I’ve ever had they are so rude not only did my reptile get worse and insisted blaming me had to take my bearded dragon to another vet because they did absolutely nothing here besides tell me he is a bearded dragon DO NOT TAKE ANY REPTILE HERE !!! They have no care for animals what so ever not only was I right about what was wrong with my dragon I was told I was wrong and paid $90 to get a packet that you couldn’t even read that was printed off of google because of this vet ! My animal is severely sick because I did everything they said to do and it did nothing for him waste of money and time here also was very rough with him while doing the worst exam ever if you have a reptile take them to Nicholasville animal hospital because they absolutely take care of your animal and actually care!

Very disappointed with this vet. I recommend that if you have a ferret do not take it here. I took my ferret was told she had a swollen spleen and was given antibiotics and told to bring her back in 2 weeks. Took her back in 3 days because she was rapidly losing weight and asked him to do an ultrasound and he refused and rudely replied "there's no point because it's just going to show that she has a swollen spleen". Then took her to the emergency hospital in Richmond and they told me she had cancer and said the first thing he should have done at the vet was an ultrasound but he didn't so I ended up having to put her down because it was too late and had he done the ultrasound we could have removed her cancer and could have preventing putting her down so soon.

Took very sick guinea pig in, they calmly and kindly explained what was going on. I asked them to do what they could but it was too late for the pig. Staff was incredibly kind and reassuring, made experience much easier. Situation was a shame but there couldn’t have been a better place to go. Great staff, nice office, everyone was willing to do what they could to help and were so gentle when they couldn’t do any more. Really appreciate everyone there. Thank you.

The vet has absolutely zero bedside manners and doesn’t give options just tells you what he knows and doesn’t care what you have to say. He accused me of neglect and not being attentive. Very unprofessional and rude. If you want to see a small animals vet visit Nicholasville rd animal hospital do not bother with this hatful person.

We have several vets we visit due to the number of cats we have. Dr Tim is our favorite. He does a great job of explaining and treating. It’s always easy to get an appointment when needed.

Back in January we had a really sick sugar glider and we were able to get an appointment here to get her treated on the same day. They diagnosed her issues as a respiratory infection and gave us the medication to get her treated and she made a full recovery.

I can't say anything but good things about this vet. They're compassionate but straight to the point. Truely have the best interest of the pet in mind at all times. Prices are decent for exotics as well. Can't say for non-exotics. We only take our rats.

I took our bearded dragon, Sunny, here today for an initial appointment. Everyone from the kind front desk worker (I wish I had gotten her name), to the sweet vet tech Megan, to the knowledgeable Dr. Gravatte, was so incredibly welcoming and warm. They treated us like we were their first customers after a long vacation, not their last(ish) customer of the day in the middle of the week - it takes true dedication, passion, and hard work to keep up your energy all day long like that. Everyone was also very straightforward about prices, which is always appreciated. Dr. Gravatte kindly spent a good deal of time sitting with me and talking me through caring for our new pet. This place has old school charm and passionate people that make you feel so comfortable putting your pet in their hands. Couldn't ask for more!

This is the only place I'm Lexington. You should take an exotic animal. Especially ferrets.

Megan and Hannah act a fool because you ask them all these questions. Sorry I can’t afford your 65$ exam fee! But you can still help the public and give advice. Service could be great, attitudes are not.
