I typically don’t shop at stores like Madewell but I was really impressed with the incredible customer service at the Summit location store. My sales associate Leia was so attentive and helpful. She even retroactively applied a discount code I had forgotten to present at check out. Superb! Only 4 stars bc’ of their prices and availability of sizes/styles in the storefront.

Expect to not be greeted, followed, and then if you happen to purchase something still be treated with skepticism with a snarled nose. Unless you’re carrying a Louis of course. It truly is unfortunate because I looove these clothes, but the customer service at the location is truly terrible. I see a different girl in there every time, and they all demonstrate the same uppity attitude. I feel like I’m in pretty woman in the worst way. Side note, the gals over at free people right next door are always friendly and treat me with kindness! Just a tip!

They never acknowledged us or approached us for help but as soon as some white women walked in the store they came to aid. Disappointed in the store, been there several times.

I think the managers name was Katherine- she was so incredibly helpful and patient. The staff at this location are always friendly, but this was next level. I was so thankful for her assistance buying my first pair of jeans in a million years- I ended up leaving without them, but she wrote down the exact style, wash, size, and SKU so I could buy them online (which I did). It was so nice not to feel rushed into the purchase. Amazing work at this madewell location.

I used to like this place but last time I was there I had a very bad experience. Staff followed me around the whole time I was there, opened the dressing room curtain while I was in there without knocking (luckily I hadn't started changing yet), and then when i left a few employees thoroughly checked the dressing room. It made me feel like thethey thought I was shoplifting and I couldn't help but feel like it was race related. I will not be coming back.

I love Madewell!! I was there recently simply to try on some shoes and the young lady helping me went above and beyond with customer service. Since they didn't have my size in store for the style I wanted, she suggested I try on one in a different color in a size I sometimes fit into to see if I like the fit/feel/look. It ended up being too big, so she looked them up and told me that they were available online in the correct size. I wasn't sure about ordering them there on the spot, so she then wrote down the style number and make of the shoe for me to look up at my leisure. It doesn't sound like a lot, but she suggested all of these things without me asking for a lot and she made sure that she did what she could.TLDR: thoughtful customer service & cute quality clothes

Madewell fan but refuse to shop at this location. Sad to say the employees are the least solution oriented people and have no problem solving skills. Any time they can't find something on the rack for you (after you've chased someone down to help), you're out of luck. I've given this team a years worth of chances but sadly, will not be returning.

Longtime Madewell customer here. I have at least 10 pairs of jeans and shorts. Was just embarrassed by staff in the store when trying to exchange some jeans that didn’t fit. I had purchased them online during the quarantine to try and support one of my favorite stores! They didn’t fit but returns weren’t being accepted online and the store was closed. I was finally able to get into the store to try and exchange and they said I was 2 days past the window to exchange. Are you kidding me? Disappointed and will not return. I’ll buy expensive jeans somewhere else where I can trust I’ll be treated as a valuable customer. Pathetic customer service.

worst service! I just stopped in with my baby in a stroller and couldn't make it around a rack of clothing in the middle, the saleswoman actually made me wait while she went around me. no greeting, no assistance whatsoever... horrible

I LOVE MADEWELL and their exceptional customer service!!! After 3 unsuccessful attempts to locate a specific handbag in a certain color (online, Reston, VA, and Philly), I was hopeful and determined with my last attempt and called Lexington Madewell. I connected with Leia who confirmed she did have one in her store and she successfully price matched, processed my order over the phone, and emailed the receipt and tracking information.
