We already knew we wanted Penfold from the moment we seen his picture. The staff was amazing, kind, and supportive. Shoutout to Chad W. For helping us pick our forever baby boy. He told us he had a feeling about this one and he couldn't have been more right. Rescuing a dog is the greatest gift you'll ever receive because their love is unwavering. Adopt today, it's worth it. You can even foster and the staff is very knowledgeable about everything you need to know. Go see for yourself.

Worthwhile and important organization for providing homes for stray and unwanted pets. Pet adoption is an excellent way to provide forever homes!

I have both fostered and adopted through LHS. I got my sweet baby, TC back in 2018 and he’s just been the greatest little (big) kitty.I also recently adopted Jackie (previously Spinelli) and she has been the absolute best addition to my little family. She is incredibly cuddly, intelligent, eager to please, and always so goofy. Please consider LHS for your next family addition. The staff has always been kind, helpful, positive, and encouraging.

absolutely amazing. they went above and beyond. took amazing care of my daughter's cat, as far as spay, shots, and chip. but my daughter (who is on the spectrum) was having a minor meltdown as we came inside. the staff came out to make sure everything was ok, and when we came in moments later and I explained what the issue was, they offered us a dark quiet room to wait in so she wouldn't be overstimulated, or to let her go to help get her cat from the back, which turned her mood around immediately because she calmed down as soon as she saw her cat was ok. but I am floored by the kindness and cooperation they gave our entire family and absolutely love them. i wish I had remembered to ask the name of the 3 staff members that were there so I could recognize them by name. but regardless.... a sincere and heartfelt thank you to you all!

This place is all about MONEY!!! THEY SERVE THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR, NOT ANIMALS OR THEIR FAMILIES! Adopted our dog from here 3yrs ago. They sold her to us knowing she had issues. PTSD from being abused by her previous owner, liked to show teeth, had issues with men, would nip at certain ppl, mostly men. BUT, she was SUCH a sweet soul, friendly, loved cuddles and hugs, loved to run and play, so many more good qualities. She was my baby. So after 3yrs of having her, when she bit me i was in complete shock. At first i was really terrified. I have little kids. I had all these scenarios flooding my imagination. So, i started looking for her a new home. But first, in a panic right after she bit me, i called the place that sold her to me..they were so cold and just lazy and unhelpful. Whoever i talked to was rude and incompassionate. She acted subhuman. The only way they were going to help me was for MONEYY!! So, i gave up. I planned to keep her until i found her the perfect home. A couple or a single person. Before i could do that though we lost her at Veterans Park. They sure took her free of charge then. We looked for her day and night until we got the call asking for MONEYY AGAIN TO GET THE DOG THEY SOLD US THE DOG THAT IS OUR FAMILY MEMBER. THEY ARE HOLDING OUR BABY HOSTAGE AND ARE GOING TO RESELL HER UNLESS WE PAY THE RANSOM. THERES A CHANCE THEY MAY NOT EVEN RE-SELL HER BC OF HER TENDENCIES? DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE EVIL FOR PROFIT ANIMAL PEDDLERS! THEY HAVE GREEDY, EVIL INTENTIONS.

The only bad thing I have to say about it was the odor. I have been to many shelters, pounds, etc and this one hit you in the face with the smell of urine. Staff was great and animal were well taken care of. Cages were clean. Time to change disinfectant.

We LOVE visiting the kittens and cats at this humane society, they have the coolest cat sunroom with lots of toys, and they also have a personal meet room to take cats in alone. The cats here are taken care of really well.
