I've gone to Jalapenos since 1996 and bar none, they are the best! The food is phenomenal (tampiquena and pollo parrilla are my go-to dishes), the wait staff wonderful and the whole vibe is just special to me! I score them a perfect 100%!

My family has been eating at Jalapeno's since they opened on New Circle Road in the 70s. I also ate there regularly with my IBM lunch bunch a lot during the 80s. And then even more after my son was born in 1996. And now I eat at South Broadway location regularly. I'd say an average of once a month, sometimes once a week, for all these years. It's been consistently great service, very good food, and it's just a very welcoming place. If something isn't right, they make it right. The place is always very clean, and the service is really fast for meals that are prepared to order. I'm a very very picky eater, and for example, we ate there this week for my nephew's 36th birthday (he picks Jalapeno's every year for his bday dinner) and I wanted something I just made up - rice with grilled chicken, and their queso, and some tomatos added in; it was delicious. The staff knows our family and what we order and who wants no quac, who wants extra sour cream, who wants their drink in a To Go cup, and a bag for the leftover chips. It's just a very service oriented establishment that is our whole family's GO TO place, our THIRD place, if you will. The owner/manager is almost always there, but there is no need as all of the staff have been with him for many many years! And they have Game Day specials! Oh and their marguaritas are exceptional. And in good weather, the patio seating is awesome. They also go out of their way to accommodate both my parents on walkers/wheelchairs.
Wheelchair accessibility: Both my parents have to sit near door or outside and they always help us.

Warning: I had to spend several hours with my daughter in the ER at UK after she had a bite the enchiladas with mole sauce. They use peanut in the sauce and it's not on the menu. I would think a restaurant that's been around this long would know better.

Food was very bad. Chips tasted like oil. Unfortunately, this was the worst queso I’ve ever had:/. I was so excited to try this place. Chicken tacos had no flavor, I couldn’t even finish one of them. Quesadillas had a bad after taste. Servers super super nice. Did not check in after food was delivered. Waited a long time for check.

This was our first trip to this restaurant and it was very delightful. The presentation of the food was just beautiful and as always in a Mexican restaurant you get way more than you can ever finish. I had the beef quesadilla and it was just delicious. My son had tacos and he really enjoyed them also. Don't remember the waiter's name but he was very friendly and also very good looking. The whole place just seem to have a good vibe to it.

Absolutely delicious and always great service. One of my favorites in Lexington! The steak fajitas tacos are my go to meal. They also have really good lunch prices everyday from 11am-3pm.

Walked in with high hopes. Quickly disappointed. Quickly being the key word. Ordered margaritas and received them in like 2 mins. This tells me they just had a container of it ready to go. Which might not be a bad thing except it had so much sour mix in it that it triggered my acid reflux within the first couple of sips. Food was ordered and within 5 mins it was brought to us. This tells me that the food was just chilling in the back. Scoop and serve. Rice was bland. Beans came out a can so that is what it is but they could have seasoned it. Enchiladas were dry and the cheese on top tasted like it had been sitting in a warmer for hours. Probably ate half our food and said no more and had it taken away. Waiter took half off our bill. When we went up front to pay the maybe manager asked if everything was good and I said no. He said “great” and took my card. After I paid I asked him if he heard me say no when he asked if everything was ok and he kinda shrugged and basically walked away.
Atmosphere was great.
Food was trash.
Manager didn’t care.

Awful food. The place looked nice and the staff were friendly, but the food and margaritas were so bad we didn’t finish any of it. When we told the waiter, he took the plates, took half off each meal, and gave us the check. When we told the manager the same as we were paying, he seemed totally cool with everything being bad. Dude smiled and said ok and waved us off. Both food and drinks came out really fast, like they were assembling dishes from stuff that had been made wayyyy earlier (super dry chicken, even covered in sauce). Margs tasted like pure sours mix. Poblano cream sauce was bright mint green and tasted like nothing. Sadness all around.
