This is a bandage clinic. My friend took their cat twice. The first time she was wobbling, sneezing, wheezing and had less energy. They ran zero tests and said she has just gotten over a respiratory infection. A few days last she started to sneeze blood, my friend brought her back, they ran only an x ray on her chest, and they said she had extreme asthma. They only gave my friend a medicine and said to call back. She had to be taken to an emergency hospital last night. Turns out she had feline leukemia virus and she still had a respiratory infection that took her out. We could not have prevented the course of action of purring her down, however had this gainsway clinic ran a signal blood test either time and not just told us it was asthma we could have isolated her from the rest of our cats. Feline leukemia is contagious and incurrable. We have 5 cats now that could potentially have it. This clinic is a bandage clinic ment for shots and nothing more do NOT trust them with major things ?

Very friendly staff, and they are doing all they can for my son's kitty that has developed kidney issues. I love how caring they are with her, and supportive of his desire to try to give her a chance to recover and live as long as possible. I went in every day for subq fluids infusion while I cared for her when my son was out of town. They didn't mind that I requested they do the procedure in the room with me.

Have completely lost trust and confidence in this place. Our poor pup has had a run of seizures since December and periodically has cluster seizures (multiple within 24hrs.) We have had to take our pup to the ER 3 times since December for these cluster seizures. Each time we have talked to Doctors at Gainesway, nobody has sat down and tried to figure out the issue or run any tests. Another vet office ran tests and noticed our dosage levels for our pup were severely low this entire time while also identifying an underlying issue. Coincidentally, each time we have been there since then, their only answer is to push more medication. The lack of communication, due diligence, and understanding of the situation by them is leaving me with no other option than to look elsewhere for the well being of our pup.
Pet owners, I'm sure this place will suffice if you just need your standard vaccines and checkups. Unfortunately when we needed their expertise and help the most we were severely underwhelmed which has lead to our poor pups quality of life decreasing.
I typically don't like to post negative reviews but I will advocate for my pup and hopefully prevent you from going here if you truly have a pet with medical issues.

The staff at Gainesway Small Animal Clinic has gone above and beyond for a nervous dog mama!! My yearly vet is in Ohio but I live in Lexington with my husband. We use Gainsway as a secondary vet and recently my dog had 6 cysts removed by Dr. Vice. I cannot sing his praises enough and the lady who answers the phones - she is absolutely amazing and very helpful with all of my questions. Thank you to all of you!

Absolutely horrible place! Went for a check up for our new baby sphynx and had concerns about her surgery incision from being spayed, they reassured us numerous times she was healing fine, next day we see her stomach and it’s definitely opened and looked horrible. Took her to the emergency vet and they said it was definitely infected and definitely opened . What kind of vet can’t tell if a wound is infected?? I wish I took pictures to put in this review, an absolute shame.

All the Vets at Gainesway are amazing but Dr. Nolte is by far and away the most amazing, kind and genuine Veterinarian I have ever come across. He treats every single animal just like they were his own. We recently had to make the very tough decision to have one of our fur babies put down and he could not have possibly been more compassionate and kind. He is truly a kind and decent man.

I highly recommend Gainesway small animal clinic! Wonderful staff! Kind, caring and gentle with your pets needs and explains thoroughly on what your pet is needing. No worries due to their great knowledge! Very reasonably priced!
