“My favorite local, independently and women owned, bookstore and curiosities shop. A real Lexington institution that is a must-see for residents and visitors alike. I make a point to come every year on my birthday to buy a tarot deck. Most gifts for friends and family also come from sQecial.”
“It's half price books, the deals on games are a few dollars better than most other nearby places, so worth checking here first. Just reminder that they carry much more than books, from movies to video games and all kinds of music formats.”
“I went there for the first time and it was really good, though I didn't like the damaged books that others had read while at the store because I saw a book that had something spilled on it sadly. But I bought a book and I already like it”
“This is hit and miss because it does depend a little on what's being brought in. That being said, we found some interesting board games and a few books. The staff was very nice to us while we were there.”
“At the Kentucky Bookstore, I found an impressive selection of apparel, all clearly marked with discounts. The service was excellent, and it was convenient that they accepted cash payments. However, there was a minor inconvenience regarding the use of the fitting room; it was necessary to ask the cashier to unlock it, requiring them to walk a significant distance, which was somewhat time-consuming and made me feel a bit hesitant to bother them. Despite this small issue, the overall experience was positive. The store offers good value and service, making it a worthwhile visit.”
“This place is great for all or your Catholic needs. This place has necessities for adults and children with a proper selection of books and bibles. This is the biggest Catholic store I’ve been into and it’s much larger than a gift shop.”
“This is a very good way to find that perfect addition to your home library. I was searching for a recipe from the Moosewood Inn cookbook, and I found the exact book there for sale with the recipe. Why settle for a single recipe when you can enjoy the entire book! Maybe you will find a special treasure tool”

“Most amazing bookstore in Lexington!!! John is friendly and knowledgeable. He has a great selection of Kentuckiana and, surprisingly, Floridian books. Highly recommend!!!”
“Great organization. They are very professional and caring. This organization takes its time to reply your emails and enquiries. They deliver as they have promised. They will always get my respect. Cheers.”
“Very nice and friendly employees so far. And it’s been a while since I have been but plan on coming here again if I had to decide where of this type of entertainment I wanted to spend my money on. But also know if ur first time don’t be surprised all u get the first visit cause second visits can be more fun or more tamed or same just saying”

2377 Palumbo Dr, Lexington“We had a good experience. Actually they sent two checks by accident. I called to let them know and we just destroyed one and cashed one. They would only allow one to be cashed anyways, but we are honest and if they wanted us to send it back we would of, but instead they said to just shred the second check. So we did. I got through quickly and they were helpful”
“One of the few big independent booksellers left. The store is beautiful with a great selection. I wish they had the horror section actually marked and and more books in the genre, but I still love and support this place. Go check them out!”
