“Tony's vs Dealership

The air shocks went out in our Equus, so we took it to a dealership. One of the service technicians was so rude to my husband when he called a couple of days later to check on the progress that he called later to apologize. After almost a week, they finally quoted repairs at $9,218, then mentioned buying the car from us when we balked at the quote -- oh, hell no. We were forced to pay a $400 "diagnostic fee," even though it was painfully obvious what was wrong as the car was almost dragging on the ground AND we told them what was wrong when we took it there.

We had our car towed from the dealership to Tony's. Tony was very kind and sympathetic and actually helped us source the replacement parts to purchase ourselves and keep the price down -- they were $554. Once the parts came in, Tony had our car repaired in less than a day at a price of $455. No diagnostic fee, no waiting a week, no rudeness, no BS.

So.....dealership = $9,618....Tony's = $1,009. Guess who will have ALL of our car repair business from now on? Guess who we will recommend every time a friend or neighbor needs any type of car work done? I cannot recommend Tony's Automotive Repair strongly enough -- a repair shop you can trust that actually cares about customers.”

i was having issues with my car shaking at fast speeds, went to t1re di5counters and was told my tires were unbalanced. they ended up just selling me new tires and not balancing them despite it being on the invoice (but i thought they did).

still having the problem a month later i wanted to go to a local place. they did an inspection for $60, i left it overnight, and the next morning got a call saying my tires were severely unbalanced (one of them was at 3.5). they balanced my tires free of charge and got me back on the road, problem solved.

the staff is super nice, they have a lot of good deals and perks. i will definitely be going back i love the service and prices here!”

“I could not recommend this place enough. I first contacted them a few months ago after I got an oil change at Tire Discounters and was told my car needed over $1800 of repairs. I figured I better get a second opinion and I'm sure glad I did. I took my car to Charlie's and they told me my wheel was just off balance. I just need to take my car to a body shop and it should be a quick fix. They did charge me a dime.

Fast forward to last week and I completely took the passenger side mirror off my car. It was dangling and looked to be in bad shape. I went to Charlie's and they did everything they could to fix the car right without charging me extra. They were even able to salvage my old mirror covers and put them on the new mirror, which means the new mirrors didn't have to be painted, which saved my money.

If you are looking for an honest business to repair your car at a great price, this is the place. There are so many times they could have overcharged me (I'm young and know very little about cars) but they always did what was best for me. I could not recommend them enough!”

“I had a wonderful experience at this car lot, i was iffy reading the reviews but i am a 23 year old women who went in with a little knowledge upfront about cars and the process and honestly i was approved quickly payments are low and cheap insurance is good honestly left the lot quickly its an older car but exactly what i needed and wanted! They were very patient and sweet older gentlemen who worked with me to get the car i wanted! 10/10 experience i would recommend doing research on cars prior to know exactly what you want any car lot will persuade to buy what they think is best for you which obviously is their job. See what will work for you prior and see what options they have and let them guide you from there! Cars will break down thats what they do but honestly i made a great decision and am in love with my subaru! If youre looking for a decently used car but nice deals id head over there because it wasnt much of a hassel at all! My car has been inspected and nothing is wrong drives nice no shaking no nothing i assume eventually ill need to do the usual tlc on cars that have to be done regularly to any car but i think for the long run this wont cost me much and i really appreciate that thank you guys over at brothers auto sell yall rock thank you!”

“I was having trouble with my Lexus not starting and originally had it towed to a different shop. They assumed it was the starter but weren’t sure. They quoted me $1100 to replace it. At the end of their inspection they told me they actually didn’t know what the problem was so I had to take it somewhere else.

The tow truck driver recommended Abe’s because of their fair pricing and honesty. I am relatively new to Lexington and didn’t know of any good shops around here so I took his word for it. A coworker of mine also knows the family and said they were good people. They were immediately able to pinpoint the starter being the issue and gave me a lower quote on fixing it.

I will be sure to go to Abe’s for any car troubles I may have in the future!”

“Listen.. a lot of us have been a victim of messy mechanics and auto repair shops that have caused more damage instead of fixing what was asked.
Took my car to Auto Excel after reading the reviews. They told me they would take a look and perform a thorough inspection on my car.. sure, why not. I was brought up to take care of your vehicle and keep it maintained.
They called and emailed the minor nonemergency repairs at which you have the option to approve or decline your repairs. Since they had my car already, I approved everything. Got my car back running smoothly.. A few days later, they called and said, there was a couple small things that we didn’t need for your car and we need to give you a refund..ummm, who does that..??‍♀️.

I took my Dodge Journey to be repaired for overheating problem on 4/29/2024.

I had both the "thermostat and oil filter adapter replaced" .

I was served by Eric Edson who is the kindest and most knowledgeable expert in the car business at the front desk. Please promote Eric Edson to the highest position within AAMCO, else someone will notice this and take Eric to their business. Brandon is an excellent mechanic that should be promoted too.

My only concern is the high labor cost that AAMCO charged (billed me) , that is, $311.50 for a job completed within 3 hours (meaning labor is 103 per hour.

In a nutshell, I highly recommend AAMCO and hope all people with car issues visit these trustworthy and diligent car experts.

He and his team helped me through the process of figuring out what the problem was with my front driver side noise that I could not figure out and they found it to be bad tires and did an excellent job replacing the two front tires that they recommended to do.
