Seems there is something bad going on at this humane society. Corruption and giving animals to very bad owners. Warning people of welfare checks. This is not what a humane society is supposed to be. Needs to be investigated

The staff here are incredibly rude. They run this out of a house that one of them owns and lives in. They keep the dogs further out in the county while they keep cats in the house. They refused to release a dog to us that belonged to us. We had proof but they said he was already adopted out. Went by 2 weeks later and he was there but again they refused to release him saying they didn't have our dog. Rotten people. They need to have other people running this and in an actual facility, not someone's house.Update since they responded- They were fully aware of it as Karen was the one who had started all this and supposedly she's the head boss. It is a house they may have fixed up for this but they don't let just anyone inside now as my mother went there for help with a dog and they stopped her at the door and wouldn't let her come inside to speak to anyone. I will fully support the animal shelter or go to another county, I will not have any dealings with these rude, lying people.

I fully support Mercer Humane Society (MHS) in Harrodsburg, KY. MHS is a non-profit organization whose goal is to ASSIST and PROMOTE the HUMANE treatment of all animals. Many of the animals that come into care are in need of IMMEDIATE medical care for illness or injury. Volunteers participate in many ways to help MHS provide each animal with the best opportunity of finding their forever home. Volunteers are involved in transporting animals to spay and neutering clinics, attending Adoption events, community outreach, and opening their homes to fostering. MHS partners with the Chamber of Commerce and Feeder Supply to promote upcoming MHS events. Donations are accepted and apprechiated. If your interested in Volunteering I'd love to speak with you and help you get started.
