I showed up to look at cats. My little buddy needs a companion. I arrived 15 minutes before closing. Took me a bit to find someone. When she popped up from the back all she said was, “We’re closed.” I reminded her it was still before closing and she responded, “Yeah, I know what the sign says. Besides you need an appointment.” Hmm…there wasn’t a sign for that. I guess I need to read between the signs that are posted and those that aren’t.
I thought this place was here for people to take in unwanted pets, not rudeness and flack from the people working there. Trust me, there’s enough unwanted animals in this county that I don’t need to go here again, much less donate any future time, money or resources.

I have 8 feral cats I payed to fix. Lately a bunch have shown up. I tried to contact animal shelter for 2weeks no answer or voicemail. I had her phone number and texted her . Nothing. I have had a lot of trouble every time I needed her service with strays. Even to the point of calling sheffi office for help. She always has a bad attitude. Finally I had to e mail Washington and the alliance for Ky. Then I finally got her to answer me she said to bring 3 of the cats yesterday and she would have the vet fixed them today . I was to pick them up and return them here feral. Being I own a storage house next door. There warm and feed very well. Then I have heard nothing. Tried Many times again to text her phone. call shelter. Left voicemail nothing. Now I just get busy signal. She was mad because I had to ask sheffi office for help to get her to come get strays before. Now she said I could pick them up when vet was done. I can’t reach her . Vet not in. So I don’t know how they are , where they are. She willnt return my calls or texts. This has been going on for over a yr. She said she had 70 cats and couldn’t take any more so I told her I would keep them here feral once fixed. IAM not the only person that has had problems with her and the attitude. So it’s sad that a person that saids she loves animals so much would make it suffer and not bring it home. IAM contacting a attorney tomorrow to see what steps I need for her to return my animals. This is getting out of hand and being she don’t care for me this is the results. She wanted the job so why do I get the attitude every time. I want to know how my cats are but she willnt reset so I think a possible change of her position is in order. I can show how many people have had so many issues with her. I was really hoping this would be different. I have donated ALOT to them. Payed electric bills and because I had to get assistance from police dept to help me have her come get the strays before . My sweet babies are paying the price. How can you say you love animals and do this. So I want a attorney to get my cats back out of that place. Being they would have a nice place to live . Well feed. But shouldn’t take it out on cats. I new something was going on but I never thought 3 cats would have to suffer out of her being mad at me. So sad.

The shelter houses animals in need of adoption. The process is made easy and worry-free with help from the staff. It's $50 to adopt a cat/kitten and $75 to adopt a dog/puppy, which covers the immunization shots, spay/neuter fees and the adoption fee that helps support the shelter. This facility is a non-profit, no-kill shelter.

All the workers commit a full time effort to keep the shelter clean and organized and to keep the animals healthy and well.
