I have lived in Falmouth for over thirty years, and have been with this bank all that time. I have seen it go through four name changes until the latest, which is USBank. I have put up with a lot from this bank, from immature personnel to outright mistakes, but lately, this bank has pissed me off to the point that I would rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick than deal with them in any capacity. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of options in Falmouth when looking for a bank. I do like the ability to pay bills online and so forth, and that part generally works alright, but I credit the main bank for that as I don't think the branch has much to do with that. Lately, though, the situation with this bank has become outright intolerable. When this covid scare started, this branch opted to close it's lobby and use just the drive through windows. Ok, I guess, if you are just depositing a check, but there are some instances where you actually want to go inside, use the desk to write on, and ask questions. They even have a sign on the drive through window which stipulates the reasons you have to come inside to do business, such as if you have more than three transactions, have rolled coins, etc. If you wanted to come in for any reason, you have to make an appointment. Think about that. They want you to make an appointment to visit the bank during business hours. For several months or so, they loosened up and had the lobby open, but only until noon, with the drive through window open until four or four thirty. That's right. Apparently covid viruses don't infect anyone until after twelve noon. Today, though, when I went to the bank to make a withdrawal at around 10:30 am, I found the doors locked again. To say that I was mad would be a gross understatement. When I drove to the drive through window and asked why the doors are locked so early, I was told that they have only been doing business via the drive through window for around three weeks because, get this, someone in the organization tested positive for covid. I asked if it was someone in this bank, and they said no, but since their personnel apparently move around from bank to bank, all USBanks are closed now. I asked if I could make an appointment, and they said sure. I then asked if I could make it for now, and they said no, it would have to be later, even though there was absolutely nobody in the lobby except two workers. They want you to make an appointment to enter the lobby at a later date rather than simply unlock the door and let you in. It is clear that they don't care one whit about their customers. One star for this bank is one star too many. They belong in the negative territory. It is a major hassle to change banks, and I don't really want to do that, but for the love of all that is holy, can we get some common sense here? This is a small town, and while we want to support local businesses, we don't want to be taken advantage of or jerked around. Here's a thought. . .if someone in the organization did test positive for covid (and, personally, I think it's all a lie), why wouldn't you either keep that person from moving to other locations or send them home? Are you really that stupid? I feel that we need a bank that maintains reasonable business hours, and stays open so people can enter and do their business inside if they prefer. To continue to treat their customers as though we are too ignorant to see what is going on is the height of arrogance. Honestly, if I can find another bank, I will fire these idiots faster than CNN's dropping viewership. My recommendation would be to absolutely avoid this bank completely, unless you have, literally, no alternative, in which case, I truly sympathize with you.
