“So our trip started off horrible. For whatever reason our bank decided to not let any transaction above the daily atm limit go thru. It wouldn't be resolved until the following morning. After being on the phone with the bank for an hour after arriving at the hotel and getting nowhere, we now had to explain this to the hotel. I explained and asked if we could pay for the night and settle the remaining the next day. The hotel could have told us to kick rocks since they put a hold for the full amount. Instead he handed us our key cards, said go get settled in, and have a great evening and we could settle in the morning. This didn't have to be done and we could have had to find another hotel for a night. I can't tell you how much we appreciated this. The next morning after a lengthy apology from a customer service manager and a bank manager, we paid in full and we were so thankful for the consideration given to us. Yeah we know they had our car in the valet, but they didn't even have to let us check in and they certainly were gracious and went above and beyond. we even had to extend our trip by 4 days and they were able to squeeze us in and managed to keep us in the same room.I wish I wrote everyone's name down and I feel bad bc I had the honor to have multiple conversations with various staff during our stay. But I only remember Andrew by name, but he and the rest of the staff MADE my trip. Exceptional service is just another day of the week to these people and they're the ones who made this trip and make us want to come back to the Lytle. So to the staff of the Lytle, from the front desk, to the bar/restauraunt, the ones who cleaned the room, the bellhops, the valets and everyone in between. Thank you.Rooms: Our room was really really really good. Spacious, well decorated and clean. We had a suite with a soaking tub and I used that thing every damn day. Highly recommend coming with bath salts or a bath bomb.Nearby activities: There's alot more to Cincinatti that I thought. As I've only ever driven thru, there's so many great places to eat and visit. We''ll be back to do just that.Food & drinks: The restaurant upstairs and the one downstairs are gorgeous. Upstairs is the view, you can see a large portion of the riverfront and across to the Kentucky side. It's gorgeous at night! The weather was cold most of the time we were there so we couldn't sit outside, but inside is no less nice.We spent some time downstairs at the bar, the staff is top notch. I highly recommend trying the the Vanilla Pear Mule for something different and the gelato for the dessert. Probably the best salted caramel gelato I've ever had.”

“What a wonderful little gem a friend told me about. I stayed in the log cabin downstairs suite and it was more than I imagined. The suite is perfectly appointed, the fireplace turns on with the push of a button, and the jetted tub is huge. Robes and slippers are provided. The bead is heavenly. The owner is very kind and goes above and beyond. Breakfast was delicious. I can't wait to go back.”

“The MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE of my life.I went there for the Taylor swift concert and never expected such an insane welcome. The entire courtyard was decorated and there was a lovely welcoming party there for the guests. I felt so warm and happy there with my partner, truly above and beyond.Souvenirs and custom made merchandise we could bring home?? everything was perfect. Beyond perfect, truly the best place I’ve ever been. Like a magical dream. The specific thought they put into our stay, going as far to ask us our favorite songs album and era to design the room around. After the trip they mailed us a specific ticket to match where we were!! Unbelievable. I’m never going to forget this experience.”

“What a great hidden gem! We stayed at this hotel for a getaway in Cincinnati. Each room is unique. The location is awesome if you're exploring OTR. The innkeeper was responsive via text message. Check in and out were flawless. There's a cute little rooftop patio for hanging out on.Guests should be aware that the stairs are narrow and a bit steep; no elevator. Its an older property and that comes with the territory. It might be convenient for them to have a baggage room, but I suspect if you asked the inn keeper they could work something out, and the mozart garage isn't far. The innkeeper worked with us to let us get the car parked a few hours early so we could spend more time exploring OTR.When we stayed the place was nearly empty. The restaurant and lounge look really nice for a weekend but on weeknights it was dead. It was fine, we were looking for a quiet relaxing place to go, but just be advised that there's nothing on site unless you coord it with the innkeeper most weeknights. That was fine -- all of OTR is an easy walk or streetcar ride away and we wanted to explore.Overall, what a cute little hotel! We're glad we stayed here instead of opting for a better known brand name option in the downtown district.Rooms: We had the Copland room. Well appointed, comfortable bed, cute antique furniture. The shower was clean and modern. Each room is unique -- we'd be interested to try a few others.Safety: I wasn't sure about the area as parts of OTR are a bit sketchy. The hotel itself was fine. There is a police substation right down the street, between the hotel and its associated Mozart garage. Most times when we were walking to or from the hotel there was a patrol car idling less than 200 yards away. Washington park is well lit and also patrolled and right next door. Access to the hotel is controlled via a pin code door lock.Walkability: The garage is a short walk away. All of OTR is an easy stroll. The free streetcar stop is about a hundred yards from the hotel at Washington Park, and you can hop on and go up to Findley Market or down to the bank.In the evening we were able to easily wander to a few bars and restaurants around the park, walk to our theater for a show, then head back to the hotel and nothing was more than an easy 10 minute stroll. Perfect location for exploring OTR.”

“It is a nice hotel overall and the attached restaurant (Metropole) is fabulous for breakfast. We had the corner room (a nice complimentary upgrade) which was said to be the nicest in the hotel. Three items did not function as they should - safe, bedside lamp, in-house phone. However someone came quickly to fix the safe. We did not mention the lamp and the front desk was notified of the phone issue. We needed the phone to call for the valet 20 minutes prior to needing our car. Instead my husband needed to go down to the lobby and request the car. The room could use a pick me up - looked a little worn but nothing too extreme. The room was very spacious for the three of us. We did not use either but it was nice that two tvs were included. The bathroom was nice - double sinks, artistic tiles, shower and tub, and fabulous smelling luxury hand soap! The king bed was comfortable. For a room this size and price I felt that it should have included a microwave but maybe that is just me. The location was what seemed like a great location if we wanted to walk around the area however our schedule did not allow it. The art museum within the hotel is very cool and was a great way to spend a little extra time that we had. Complimentary bourbon tastings in the evening were a nice touch but unfortunately we did not get to take part. Overall it was a nice stay!”

“I was headed to Milton, West Virginia on a business trip. I transport cargo for a living, im not a big rig trucker...im a hotshot transporter. I'm not from the area so the location was slightly hard to find at night. I can't say much for the view because, again, I arrived at night. It did sort of remind me of Branson, MO because of the hills and roads. The front desk was very accommodating and friendly. My gf had booked me the room maybe 30min before I showed up. Their list of food delivery consists of mostly pizza and like 1 Chinese restaurant. Though I remember there being a selection of surrounding restaurants and a gas station all Very close, maybe even walking distance. My room was very nice and clean! My view was lucky, I remember looking out the window and seeing the side of another building like 100~ feet away. I won't dock the hotel for that though. They have a mild selection of food and drink in their open-concession right inside the front doors. Given I forgot to tell my bank about my road trip, my debit card was starting to get declined (fraud ) but the desk was nice enough to charge my junk food to the room which had my card on file. The next morning I was delighted to find the highway 9 was literally a step off of the parking lot and I got to see a little bit more of Wilder and Cincinnati. Thanks for making me feel comfortable and welcome! I'd definitely stay again if/when im in the area! From Iowa, thanks from The Hauling Horseman”

“Good location - everything is in reach by foot, if you like walking. Living on Kentucky side and looking at Cincinnati skyline is much more pleasant than the other way around. The lobby is beautiful.Room (70X) was ok - no major issue, relatively updated. The only puzzling thing is the shower design - look at the pic - who would put a toilet next to a shower blocking it?!My bonvoy app request for a higher floor room wasn’t really respected. The M lounge does NOT serve any food/snacks over the weekend. Complete nonsense… and makes the M Lounge almost useless for tourists with status.”

“Second time staying here while visiting family and will stay again in the future.Pros: Great location, great staff, breakfast was good.Cons: We stayed in 601 and you can hear traffic throughout the night. Recommend staying on the other side of the hotel if you’re sensitive to traffic sounds. Also, rooms with couches need a refresh. They are severely distressed and kind of gross.”

“My husband and I made reservations at the holiday Inn in Florence, Kentucky Sunday on the 31st. I called back and ask we can have the 30th also the girl at the holiday Inn says no problem.Well we didn't know she made through Priceline, we had to cancel because of covid, when I called two days ahead to cancel in advance. Holiday inn cancel on the 31st. Can't on the 30. Told me to call Priceline, Priceline already got the money out before our due date to arrive. Any way we can't get our money back. I called holiday inn about it, not there problem. can someone take care of this. I called Priceline getting a run around. What a scam.”

“I must say that I had some minor reservations because of certain reviews and also because I've never had a really late check-in especially at a hotel with no night attendant. My "late" check-in process was simple and quick! My room was clean and even though it was obvious the room used to allow smoking it wasn't bad. The kitchenette was nice with plenty of utensils. There is no daily housekeeping which I liked not having to put up a do not disturb sign. Will stay again!!”

“Overall a wonderful experience. We had a free night to use up so I won't be to critical but the room was very odd. Room 1420 in particular was very tiny and laid out in peculiar fashion unlike any other room I'd stayed at a Hyatt or other hotel for that matter, luckily we weren't there to be in our room long so other than that the staff and facilities were nice and our trip was good. Just don't get that room!”

“I am too late to post this review but its never too late for the excellent comments. we were around 70 people were here in this hotel in September 2023 and CIERRA BICKEL and her staff made our stay as good as possible. It was my son's wedding and we were coming out of town and was too scared how things will workout there. But because of CIERRA BICKEL it was as smooth as it can be . Every time i called her and explain her my concern she always said don't worry i am here and i will take care of everything and she did it. Not to mention she was 8 months pregnant. all our guests loved her and her staff. I have so much to say all good things about them. I felt it home there. i would love to stay there with an blink of my eye. All in all we all were 200% satisfied with their services and hospitality.”

“You cannot get into this building unless you are accompanied by someone with a Childrens Badge and employees are quite firm on this rule to the point of sometimea seeming distrustful. Once inside however, people are friendly enough and there is a small cafeteria where you can get a quick bite to eat or coffee, drinks, etc.”

“My rental car was one of multiple cars broken into back in April. I emailed the GM and the only response was "you park at your own risk" with absolutely no offer to remedy anything. I was not looking for them to cover the cost, but some sort of gesture would have been nice considering the GM admitted there was a gap in security surveillance in the parking lot where the incident occurred.”

“After reading some of these reviews I was a little nervous about staying here, but I had a great experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the room was clean, and breakfast was tasty. It's an older hotel so don't expect the Ritz but it was perfect for an easy one night stay. Thanks!!”

“Still to this day as long as I have been an Elite member of best western, I still never get greeted as such when I'm checking in. The guy who checked me in the evening I stayed there was extremely lazy and more or less refused to give me an ice bucket. Not that big a deal but damn, if you're going to be in the hospitality industry at least do a little something for the guests aside from play on your phone. All other employees were extremely friendly and helpful, the manager even reached out and offered me some compensation for my troubles. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely stay here.”

“We checked in on 3-8-24 in evening checked out on 3-9-24. Gentleman named Justin was working front desk. He was nice polite all the above..He got us straight into our room. Once we got in I started my room check (I worked YEARS in housekeeping and Head housekeeper) the A/C wasn't working in bedroom. My husband went down desk and Justin got right on it!! He came to our room checked out contacted maintenance and ended up having crash course on fuse changing with maintenance on phone. All while doing front desk also..A/C was fixed quickly.(he needs a raise the way he was running around).Housekeeping..Could Use a little more attention to detail..looking under sofa beds and dressers things like that. But My 7yr old was happy when he found change in sofa bed lol...I sent few pictures to my husband (he was in the bistro) he actually showed Justin. Justin contacted management and we ended up with a $60.00 discount for all the inconvenience and 1 free Flatbread pizza. Now I did not send the pictures to complain! Housekeeping is NOT an easy job! Things are forgotten and missed! It happens!!! Especially when you have 15-20+ rooms and only so much time to do them in.. The bed was very comfortable and clean! Bathroom, vanity was very clean!! (Room 330)Now for the employees attitude in the bistro, not sure if the lady was just having a bad moment, day or week but whatever it was I hope she fixed it.!We would definitely stay again!Jason & Jamie Harper”
