I love going to this boutique and Back Home Restaurant whenever my husband and I are going through Elizabethtown. The owners are a mother and daughter (restaurant and boutique, respectively), and they are the sweetest and friendliest people!! Yummy food and unique clothing and accessories!! You won't be disappointed. Try them out!!!

Wonderful place. Old Victorian home. Everything is homemade. Even the apps and the desserts! Try the fried green tomatoes. And the honey chicken with the Mac and cheese. All the food is excellent.

Found this place about halfway between Nashville and Indianapolis, it's about 5 or 10 minutes off the interstate. We were looking for a small local place to have a nice meal and read some great reviews. Lots of great options on the menu, was hard to choose! I had the roast beef &gravy (comes on mashed potatoes and bread) with the broccoli casserole; spouse had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, baby carrots and corn bread. Everything was fresh and tasty, and portions were generous. No room for dessert but they all sounded delicious. Very reasonable prices for the quality of the food, and had a nice atmosphere in an old house. Staff very friendly. This last comment isn't meant as anything negative: don't be in a hurry, just go and enjoy!

Slow service, ok food Food was good, but nothing special. Too awhile to be seated as they must be short staffed Took 25+ minutes to get my food after I ordered Nothing special as it was meatloaf, green beans and broccoli casserole. Meatloaf was bland and I think was boiled in water to reheat it. It didn’t seam fresh as I would have expected

Very, very disappointed! #1 ranked Elizabethtown restaurant, don’t see how! Portions very small. Meatloaf tasted like a Stouffers frozen pan. Hash brown casserole “crunchy”, not done. Country ham very thin and overly salty. Only good thing at our table was daughters roasted chicken salad but the bottled salad dressings ruined that. Very expensive considering the quantity and quality

Wow! The food at the Back Home Restaurant is absolutely to die for! They offer so many amazing homemade style entrees that it’s hard to decide what to eat. My husband had an open faced roast beef sandwich, on homemade mashed potatoes with delicious gravy. The owner told us that he slow cooks the beef to make it extra tender. I had delicious country ham with the best sweet potato casserole I’ve ever tasted! They serve some type of cobbler daily, which is always delicious. The family who owns this restaurant bend over backwards to make you feel welcome, and their son was an excellent waiter! The boutique in the restaurant is also adorable, with great products! Loved, loved , loved this place!

Looking for a nice local restaurant in Elizabethtown to have lunch with my best friend. We found the PERFECT place! The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was great! The sweet onion dip was awesome. The menu has lots of variety so it’s a must to return to. Also, love the gift shop!!

Took over an hour to get food that basically came frozen and heated up. The green beans were from a can and not seasoned. I should have gone to the grocery store and made it myself for less time and a whole lot less money. Would have tasted better too. I was very disappointed.

We chose going here after the Glendale Crossing Festival rather than wait an hour or so in line at the Whistle Stop in Glendale. We got there right after they opened so it wasn’t crowded yet. It certainly was by the time we left . Service was very good and friendly. We both opted for the turkey and dressing with two sides. The food was good although the broccoli casserole was a bit too rich for us. We were hoping for a piece of peanut butter pie, however, that was no longer on the menu for fall. Instead we shared the peach cobbler with ice cream. It was more doughy than we liked with not much peaches. Overall it was a decent experience.

We have visited this place a number of times over the years! Always good and service is good, also! The vegetables are one of my favorites but it’s been a few months since we’ve been there!

My husband and I went upstairs to the boutique after finishing our dinner downstairs. While my husband was admiring the architecture of the old building and I was looking at the clothes the shop keeper decided to breath down my neck and follow us from room to room treating me like a shop lifter. I suppose she thought my big pregnant belly was where I was going to stuff all the clothes. I haven't been so insulted in a store my entire life. It was a shame. I was actually very interested in a few items, but was so put off I wanted to run out of the shop. It was absolutely disgraceful!
