Dr. Reed is amazing, and I would follow her anywhere! The care and compassion she has for animals is truly one of a kind. I have been going to this vet for over 10 years and they have cared for all of my animals in this time frame. Dr. Reed explains things in a way that anyone can understand, she calls to follow up with you, and she has even told me to message her about my pet on her own personal phone. Because she truly cares. I wish they weren’t so busy and I wish it didn’t cost so much to properly care for your animals, or pay for emergency visits, but I know that is no fault of Helmwood. I would never go anywhere else(unless an emergency happened and they were busy or closed of course!) thank you for caring for my animals.

I had a great experience…I moved to Elizabethtown from Louisville..I was hoping to find a good vet..the staff at this clinic couldn’t have been better..My dog Andy didn’t want to leave..that was a first!

Hannah and Dr Howell helped us very compassionately euthanize our 16 year old fur baby today. Extremely difficult time for us, but the best people made it the best it could be. Thank you for your kindness and excellent skills and talent. Highly recommend.

We will never bring our dog back here. This is the first time we have used this vet and the first time we have ever boarded Timber anywhere. Everything was fine until the day of pick-up. I had someone else picking her up for us so, I paid in full on the day we dropped her off. We figured they could just pick her up and go without any issues. When she got there, the vet said Timber had Diarrhea which was probably due to nerves. Someone had said they cleaned her up but she said Timber still smelled terrible like she had been left laying in it for days.Then Faith, one of the girls that was working the front, told her i still owed $169 and tried to tell her she had to pay it WHEN I HAD ALREADY PAID IN FULL AT DROP OFF. She obviously told Faith she was wrong and then I called up there to talk to her. Faith told me I still owed $34.95...... where she even got that number, I still have no idea. I told her I was told I had already paid in full so I was confused and asked if she could explain it to me. She said she messed up and charged the wrong amount originally. So again, I asked her to explain where the extra $34.95 was coming from because just telling me you made an error doesn't explain why i all of the sudden owe more money at pick up. She huffed and then was EXTREMELY condescending when answering me. I told her just to go ahead and charge it because at this point the person that was picking up my dog had already been waiting for a hour. I was also trying to drive and was 5 hours away. We got off the phone and the person that was there for me said Faith was being rude to everyone, and was rolling her eyes and making faces while I was on the phone with her. So, she told Faith that she was being rude, after Timber was finally brought out. Then I called back up to talk to someone who is higher and Hailey answered. She told me that Kim is the only one above Faith and she didn't think she would be in until the following Monday. So I asked to talk to Faith again and see what her problem was and why she had an attitude over me asking a simple question about her mess up that was costing me extra money. Faith got back on the phone and claimed she was rolling her eyes and being rude because her computer was froze and she was aggravated. No apology, just tried to lie after being confronted. Attitude had magically disappeared after being called out by two people and asking to speak to whoever her boss is. They also tried to send my dog home with probiotics without letting anyone know the price. I had to call and ask. Faith said they were $52..... I called my vet and got them for $17. They have the highest boarding prices around. I assumed being at a vet, they would be worth the price and my dog would be better taken care of. This was not the case. They price gauge, have rude staff who don't know their jobs and quote incorrect prices, my dog came home sick when she was just checked at our vet days before, and she was not cleaned up at all. Don't waste your time here. Board elsewhere.

I've been going to them for about 2 years now. They have been wonderful especially when my dog ? Dude had this tumor on him. DR. Reed was so kind to go ahead and do the surgery on Dude back in December 2023, I always got/get the best from them. They made me & my little loves (dogs ? ?) feel like home. & Because I can't always get to bring them (??) in to see them so we talk to each other by text messaging. I'm so Grateful that I have such Excellent service from them.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU & YOUR BABIES (?? OR ? ? OR OTHER ANIMALS) TO GO TO THEM, THEY ALWAYS MAKE EVERYONE FEEL AT HOME WITH THEM. & They put you at ease & take Excellent Care of My Little Loves ❣️?????????

Called this clinic they have a hour left open my dog is having a skin allergic reaction. He has red bumps and irritation. They don’t have walk in visit. Nor do they know of a place that does in the area. When asked when could I schedule an appointment. she said oh sometime next week…… appreciate the help *sarcasm* on to the next place.

We decided to try Helmwood Vet Clinic after feeling dissatisfaction with our dog’s former vet.
Our only regret is we didn’t seek this wonderful vet clinic out sooner!
The staff and the vet was welcoming, friendly and they really listened to us. We never felt rushed during the appointment. And we could see just how much they care about our dog and any questions/concerns we shared.
Helmwood Vet Clinic will now be our chosen vet for all of our senior dog’s medical needs.
Thank you so much for such a positive experience for both our fur baby and us. ?

Lovely staff, good care! The two female vets we've had were soooo kind and also very loving to my dog. Little Miss Gigi has recovered perfectly from her ear infection. Thank you Helwood!

Rusty was there for a follow-up appointment. He loves getting in the car for the ride, but as soon as we get to the Vets office, he seems to not want to be there. The Staff here at Helmwood Veterinary Clinic are all amazing and patient with our furry loved ones. Once rusty is away from me, I'm informed he turns into Casanova. Let's them rub his belly. All that said, if you truly want your pet to have the best care, this is the Veterinary Clinic you want to be a part of. I'm very pleased with the information and care instructions from the Vet. and if there is any issues that should arise after the appointment, you just call and they will work you into their already busy day.
