I’ve had all five of my children at this hospital. I had mixed experiences. The last one was July 23, 2024. I delivered my youngest a little boy. The doctor delivered him delivered three of my children and he is absolutely amazing. The doctors are amazing. I’ve never had a problem with any of them. That’s just a doctors. May I add, however I understand this is a teaching hospital where people come who is wanting to be doctors nurses etc. when I was in labor with my last baby I had students come in and asked if they were allowed to ask me questions well, they never went away, doctor, my baby doctor Was teaching this girl that I felt like I dealt with her more than any nurse she would come in every hour ask me questions messing with me and my baby just for her learning experience and when it was time to have my baby, no one asked me if 10 other people can come in to watch me have my baby just for them to learn I was in so much pain is so scared don’t it don’t matter if it was my first second third fifth baby I’m scared either way pushing out a human being but no one asked me if I felt comfortable. Just having random people come in just to watch me have my baby not help me have my baby just to watch me have my pussy up in the air everything hanging out at my most vulnerable state Watch me have my baby and I didn’t notice this until I was pushing him out and I opened my eyes and I seen a crowd and I heard one person say we’re just here to see the burst of liquid come out. I want to show this person and it’s disgusting to me that they took advantage of Delivering my son that was something personal between me my husband and my child finally got to the point where a Nurse that I have been dealing with for five years nurse Lucy she is the Nicu Nurse. I told her about how I’ve been dealing with these students coming in every hour messing with me and my baby and she’s told me that I can deny them coming in and on my last day there I was able to put a stop of them coming into my room , so I have to give it one star but since my doctor was amazing I guess it deserves it but thanks st Erin Edgewood for ruining my experience on my last child I will ever have

If I could give the place 0 stars I would. While I understand our system is very broken, and nurses are at their whits end with understaffing and all that but The SICU is a joke here, while there are good nurses there’s 3 more to follow behind that make it worse they’re very rude, no compassion, they’ll roll their eyes when you ask questions to try and make sure your family member is okay, if you call them for updates they get very rude with you. This place is a joke and if I could get my family member transferred to another hospital I would. We traveled 5 hours to be able to see her and be support for other family that are stuck in this nightmare. I truly don’t believe she’s receiving the care she should for being in the “SICU” DO BETTER ST. E if you’re a nurse and can’t be nice and compassionate don’t need to be one??♀️ FAMILY IS WHAT MATTERS so your patients want them around and of course have questions. Stop making it out that family is a problem when you can barely do your damn job correctly.

I’m four months pregnant and tried making an appointment for a pregnancy exam and ultrasound. The woman was nice until she found out that I’m currently applying for Medicaid. (I did offer to pay out of pocket btw) She put me on hold and then told me they can’t fit me in. She also gave me the number to a walk-in clinic with terrible ratings. My sister just had her fourth child and she went to this St E for her appointments. She was never told to go somewhere else. And I’ve never heard of them turning away any other of my friends or family.
My husband’s work promised to give him insurance after three months and decided not to, so we don’t have a lot of options. It’s really sad that St E would just throw pregnant women away like that because we don’t happen to have an employer that offers good benefits. It’s especially frustrating because they pretty much have a monopoly on healthcare in this area. In the future, regardless of my situation, I won’t go here unless I absolutely have to.
Edit: The OB/GYN I ended up using unfortunately uses St. E for all their appointments that they can't do themselves. I got my ultrasound at the Edgewood location and the tech was incredibly rude. I smiled and said hi to her when she led us through the door. She just looked at me stone-faced, which made me feel like an idiot for being overly friendly. My husband was there and he doesn't speak English. She asked if I was going to translate and I said I can translate some things but there might be some things I can't translate. She gave me a very judgmental look and said, "How do you even talk to each other?" None of your business. Just take pictures of my baby. I stayed quiet for most of the ultrasound and just focused on sharing the moment with my husband, but she kept making sour comments throughout the entire thing and just seemed to have a bad attitude the whole time.
I will add that there was a doctor on that floor who noticed us looking at a map and helped us find where we needed to go, so I really appreciated his help.

My wife got emitting Saturday at 4:00 pm for monitoring no nurse or doctor for almost 4 hours . Was supposed to have a breathing treatment at 7:00pm she got an inhaler at 11:00pm . The nurse who did the initial check in didn't put her daily medication in so at shift chage the new nurse had to do it. Didn't even offer her a blanket when she got into her room . And then at discharge it took over 4.5 hours to get released.

I been here since 10:00 pm and it’s now 2:00 pm and not one person has acknowledged me since being here with my partner. We have encountered over 4 associates and for me it feels unwelcoming, akward and as if I’m just like a ghost. Like I don’t belong here lol. This experience alone will make me drive all the way to Cincinnati emergency before I ever allow someone here to care for me. Maybe they just don’t acknowledge black people

Waited five hours to not even be seen because I just had to leave and be seen elsewhere. Other people had been waiting longer than me and were leaving left and right. People weren’t being called back to even be seen. Awful experience. This is why I hate St E.
Went in on a Friday at exactly 10:17, others had been there since 7pm and left at 12. There was an elderly lady sitting out with us with her arms bandaged and she was bleeding through them. They finally did take her back right before I left. This is truly embarrassing for St E and they should be ashamed.

Disappointed. My mom was there over the weekend and it left a lot to be desired. The staff constantly complained to her about being shorthanded. That is not her problem. That is their problem and why they get paid. My mom has dementia for God sake. She doesn’t need to be exposed to that. She’s literally in the hospital feeling bad for being there because they are complaining about doing their jobs. They should not be burdening patients with their staffing issues. Further, I guess family has to hold a bedside vigil-24-hours-a-day to wait around for a doctor - otherwise you receive no communication. She’s already home and I still have no idea what they did for her, what they feel is truly the problem, or what’s best to do going forward because we never saw a doctor! Frankly, it seemed like a useless admission. Discharge paperwork has nothing on it useful either. I also do not care that “it’s the weekend.” These people are making monster salaries. They can work weekends! I don’t want to hear that as an excuse for staffing issues. Saint Elizabeth is making a ton of money and building new structures all the time! They can afford to pay their staff and attract new people. The weekend has nothing to do with it. Being cheapskates is the problem.

? This does not even deserve 1 star. Terrible, unprofessional staff! Seems to be strictly a money motivated hospital that doesn't care about patients. My man was transported from another hospital due to a broken rib and partially collapsed lung. An actual doctor probably spent a total of 3 minutes with him in 3 days of being there. The nurses were rude and told me it was 'inappropriate' for me to be in the bed with him during day shift ??.. which was a bold face lie. If he was comfortable and wanted me there, why not? There is no communication between staff, it seems as if they have no idea whats going on. No one ever showed us the Xrays that were taken, I had to ask if we could see them. On day 3 he was told he would be discharged that morning, then 6pm rolls around and while already having a order in the computer for him to be discharged, got dressed and ready to go, another doctor who had not layed eyes on him at all, decided he was no longer leaving until another Xray is taken at 8:30pm. (Money motivated) We said no, we arent doing that he wants to go home. The doctor NEVER came to speak to him just refused to sign off on the paperwork even tho a different doctor already put the order in. We ended up having to leave AMA, no one was helpful at all. Then, come to find out from his primary physician he actually had 2 broken ribs and she was able to show the Xray and explain them. St E is an absolute joke. I will avoid this place at all cost. ??

If you need health care "professionals" Go Somewhere Else!! I was recently admitted for a broken rib where not 1 doctor showed me or explained my injury?? You're just a number in this Huge money making scheme!! I was set to be released 2 days later and was packed and ready to go and at the very last minute the nurse came in and said the doctor now wanted me to stick around for 4 more hours to take Another set of x-rays (forth set and the last was 3 hours prior to this showed everything was clear??) If you're in the area, Go to Ohio like Christ or Good Sam.

I hate this place. In 2014, I was transported to CCHMC my home hospital were they said, had I waited any longer, I would be dead. He got lucky, normally if they don’t find anything they send you home. Spent 6 months in the cardiac intensive care unit for 6 months at CCHMC.
Not only that, I had a primary who I was with for a year and a half, dismissed my now we know they were seizures, no referral to neurology, just let’s keep an eye on it. A year later I was diagnosed with epilepsy. Primary was Tina Gutekunst APRN. IF you have cardiac issues and are an adult, go to UC.
