Took my truck in for Alignment 124,000 miles they told me I needed ball joints $669. I didn’t need ball joints. My mechanics said he wouldn’t even put them in.

Made an appointment will Harley’s after failed attempts/poor customer service at some chain shops. I’m pretty particular about my car and do almost all the work, including large jobs, myself. The only things I can’t do are alignments and mounting/balancing tires (requires specific equipment out of the DIY budget). I brought my car to Harley’s to try and remedy some road noise that popped up. Tony was really nice and even spoke to me after operating hours about my problems.
To save time and money, I wanted an alignment and a Roadforce balance as I knew that they hadn’t been done in some time. If the problem wasn’t fixed by that, I wanted them to investigate the tire condition. I provided a packet with my preferences, quirks of my car, and specifications for my alignment. The work was done in 1.5 hours, and comparing the alignment results to the specs, they were spot on.
Unfortunately, I also specified my wheel bolt torque (81 lb/ft). I checked this with my digital torque wrench at home, which is accurate up to 147.5 lb/ft. Attempting to break one of the bolts loose on my rear passenger wheel resulted in a torque reading of 190 lb/ft before it finally errored out for overload. It’s obvious that they wanted to ensure the wheel would not come off going down the road, or ever…
My socket started to round on the wheel bolt during this test, so I’ll have to break it loose with my Milwaukee impact or a breaker bar with a stiffer socket. I’ll also have to replace this wheel bolt if I can get it off.
This is pretty common at a lot of shops, so they aren’t alone, but the fear of liability has led to other problems now.
Overall, they identified my wheels were slightly bent, which is the likely cause of the noise. The work they did significantly reduced the noise, and the car definitely feels better at the wheel. I’ll use them again, but I’ll keep my torque wrench in my back seat to check my wheels before I leave. Some aspects of my car left in better shape than they arrived, others were left in worse shape.

Today I was literally stranded on the side of the road with a busted tire. Harley’s sent two guys out to put my donut tire on for me. The guys wanted me to come back to the shop to rotate my tires so the donut would be on the back and it would be safer for me to drive home. Everyone was so friendly and the customer service is great. They ordered a new tire for me. Today they got a new customer for life.

Had all 4 brakes and rotors replaced and had 4 tires mounted, balanced, and installed on my 2005 Nissan Titan. Tony, at the front desk, was extremely helpful and polite to work with. After truck was finished, I drove home and all seemed good. I was flying out of state in the next couple of days so I didn't do much driving until I drove the truck to Louisville Airport. On my drive there, I started to feel a knocking when I let of the gas, but it went away when I hit the brakes or sped up. I figured I would get it checked when I got back from my trip. After I returned, I was driving home from the airport to Garrard County, traveling 70-80 mph with the traffic, on 64 still feeling the thumping or knocking periodically. As I exited 64 onto 127, the thumping started to get worse and as cars were going around me, they were looking over at my truck so, I adjusted my side mirror so I could see my rear tire and I seen that my tire was extremely loose and wobbly and appeared as though it was about to come off! I stopped to find one of the lugbolts was broken off and the other 5 were totally loose! I tightened the lugs as tightly as I could and proceeded to drive home. I hadn't driven a mile and had to tighten all the lugs again! I was now only able to drive about 5 mph and had to stop 3 more times before I reach my house. It appears as though the lugs were not tightened properly when the repairs were made and as they became looser, the holes on my wheel were wollered out to the point that the wheel would not tighten. Of course this happened after hours on Friday night and they are closed for Labor day and as a result, I have lost 3 days of work already and will probably loose more before it is repaired. I can't even drive it to their shop! They will have to have it towed there. I will update this review in the future after all issues are addressed and corrected.UPDATE:Owner contacted me on Tuesday, and was very apologetic that this incident happened. He agreed to send a wrecker to haul my truck to the shop and make the necessary repairs as soon as possible. He said it may be a couple of days before they could repair it, depending on what parts they would need to order. To my surprise, I was contacted this morning stating my truck was ready for pick up. After getting my truck and driving it, I was pleased with the repairs, but, I was still upset that I had been without transportation for 5 days and lost 32 hrs of work due to this issue. After meeting and talking to the owner, we did come to a gentleman's agreement and able to put this issue behind us. In the end, if it were possible to rate customer service I would give that a 4.5. However, even though the damage was repaired in record time and the truck drives great, I feel like a 3 is where I have to stand at due to an absolute avoidable issue that left me without a vehicle for 5 days, and could have potentially resulted in a tragedy.I will continue to do business with them as well as recommend their services.

I called about fixing my flat tire, and they got me in within a couple of hours, fixed the flat, replaced the spare and put the tire back on, and didn’t charge me a thing, all within a half hour. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you.
