I am not sure what the point of this humane society is. They never accept animals. I have FIVE cats that I have attempted to take there over the years and every single time I find a cat or kitten they say they have no room. I am told to put the cats back outside. What kind of service is this? They offer almost zero community support. The animal control folks are great but the rest of this org is unhelpful at best and helping cats reproduce at worst.

We adopted our pup through the DBCHS and had a really great experience. All of the staff members seemed to really love the animals and most (if not all) made a point to say goodbye to ours as we left. They also have a separate meet-and-greet room with toys, so that you can bond with your future pet before leaving. While our dog wasn't a part of the Mutts with Manners program, I really like that they have programming focused on training the dogs outside of the shelter as they wait to get adopted so that the animals don't have to spend too much physical time at the shelter.

They came into my apartment and took my cats. Two being service animals. Then I was told they "escaped" when my door was opened. I have a mental disability and my daughter has autism! They had no right to enter the premisis without giving me any notice. I am going to pick them up today and make a police report if the animals arent rightfully returned. I will update my review upon further notice. I am in the process of moving. The animals were fed and watered daily while getting moved and I was away from the property in a hotel that doesnt allow pets. I came to bring them to my new home and got hit with the news that my animals "got out" by the humane society and learned they were wrongfully seized by eye witnesses . I have an american shorthair female unfixed for my daughter. A black and white tux make fixed and a new rescue orange and white kitten. My new home allows pets and My babies and I were excited to bring our beloved animals to our forever home! They were removed from long run apartments door 14Update: a really compassionate man has taken my information and gonna help me see what I can do to get them back. I showed him proof of happy loved kitties and hes gonna call me asap.

If I could give them no stars I would. The staff are the rudest, unhelpful, cold hearted, unprofessional people I have ever met in my life. I have never had to go to the humane society but the first time will be my last. I couldn’t even get my dog in the door before they told me they wouldn’t take her. They even had the nerve to call the cops on me because I was “making a scene”. They locked me in the parking lot because they thought I was abandoning my dog and I hadn’t even attempted to start my car or leave, I was sitting in the parking lot trying to figure out what to do. I work in Danville, pay Boyle County and Danville taxes, and I live closer to this humane society than the one for the county I live in, yet they wouldn’t take my dog. I ended up having to take my dog to another county humane society where they are almost full, because they wouldn’t take her and they have NO dogs!!

I was adopted by a pregnant kitty that couldn't deliver and they said they don't take strays. What are they there for? Am I supposed to let her die? They say they are humane.

I brought my cat in to be adopted 2 days ago. I was very sad doing it but i had to. Both the staff I met were VERY nice and helpful. It made it a little easier giving up my cat. Also, the shelter was very clean. Great place to go.

The facility is well kept and the staff is very kind.We bought 2 kittens there and the price is fantastic as you get a rabies shot, spay or neuter, and additional vaccines in the price. They allowed us plenty of time to socialize with the animals so we could make the right decision for our family.I have also brought to dpays to tham that were both taken good care of and adopted quite quickly.

This shelter is very nice! The animals were great, the cat area didn't smell of urine even though they mad multiple cats! The staff were friendly and very helpful! I definitely recommend this shelter!
