My son and I brought in a KHS mountain bike to Danville Bike and Footwear for repairs., The bike needed a new fork, brakes, a tuneup and a few other details to make it trail worthy again. The staff at the shop went out of their way over the Christmas holiday season to order parts and had the repairs finished and the bike looking and riding like new before the New Year. Great work, we really appreciate it!

Great and knowledgeable customer service! I came in wanting to try on some Brooks running shoes, and their advice was spot on, they took plenty of time with me in figuring out which shoe fit best, and I walked away knowing I had made the right decision with my next pair of shoes.

Riding my bicycle from Virginia to California. Had a lot of problems with my bicycle. Ernst treated me with the best customer service and knowledgeable about the bicycle. Him doing the trans American trail himself.

I was in Berea and needed some maintenance help for my (older) Trek 520, after cycling from Yorktown on the 76 route. Knowing the shop opened at 10 AM the next morning, I hopped on my bike early and was there when Ernst arrived to open the shop. He was INCREDIBLY helpful, not only doing the replacements to my worn out brake pads (thank you Appalachians and especially the descent at Vesuvius), but doing an overall inspection and tightening of the inevitably loosened nuts and bolts, while giving me a quick "how to" lesson. Ernst showed me his photos from his own Trans America journeys, which certainly helped boost my confidence.I can only reflect that his quiet enthusiasm and respect for all the varied customers that came through the doors was a breath of welcome that isn't often found.By the way- that's the Trek 520 next to a mural in far western Kentucky- just before the Ohio River crossing. We made it to Marshfield MO- where the 76 route crosses the Route 66 bicycle route where I finished last summer. I only have Phoenix AZ to San Diego left to finish my own wobbly bike across America route.Thanks again!Cai

First time and last time. I so wanted to have a positive experience and support a local business, but it was apparent that nobody that worked in the store cared if I was there or not. The items I wished to purchase were relatively inexpensive. I guess that's what they didn't care, but they lost the opportunity for a repeat customer.

I needed a new pair of sneakers. Went into Danville Bike and Footwear. Ernst was very helpful and friendly!! I was able to get my new sneakers and they had my husbands sneakers. ( His are extra wide and long). It is pleasure to shop locally. Love this business

I wish I had a good experience like other reviewers. Customer service from who I believe is the owners son is mediocre at best. They sell kid bikes but it’s in fact not a good place to buy a kids bike. They sell bikes for 300 plus but you can’t try them out (well if you take the bike outside in a very busy parking lot, that we don’t own yet that has lots of surfaces around that can damage the bike or my child, no thank you). My little one was super disappointed. The gentleman was NOT interested in trying to help me, he just let me know while removing the bike from us that “we don’t allow trying the bikes”. So I asked how he proposed you try a bike before you buy and he suggested we go outside to the very busy and unsafe parking lot with a helmet on and do so there. Makes ZERO sense. Just keep that in mind when coming to this store with a small child. However they did return goggles with zero hesitation, so that was good. Not the experience I was expecting, overall very disappointed.

This place is amazing. Great customer service. I walked in and said I needed a good shoe for walking and lower back pain. They fitted me perfectly with shoes that feel amazing. I have walked in these shoes for only one day and my back isn't hurting tonight. Walk in there and get fitted with the shoes you need.

I bought my bike a few years ago at a chain sporting goods store. Because I had never dealt with an actual bike shop, I thought I got decent service there. A few days ago, my buddy and I took our bikes to Ernst for tune-up's. I never imagined what outstanding service I could get for a bike. Ernst and Andrew are phenomenal. A 10-minute conversation on the phone with Andrew was more productive in getting me the bar ends, pedals, and shoes that I needed than the previous several hours had been online. So grateful to have such a great resource close to home. These folks are the real deal: kind, patient, and certified experts in their field.

These guys are great. Super friendly and they really know their stuff (bikes and shoes). I feel very lucky to have such a great bike shop in a pretty small town.
