If you can go to any other hospital in the area do it! The communication from nursing staff to family is non-existent. They tried to put my Mother on the psych floor because they didn't want to handle her care. When we brought her back to the orthopedic floor they nursing staff made faces at each other about my Mother. They were not positive expressions. Yes, they didn't try to hide it from her or family. The Techs can't put down their phones long enough to attend to patients needs. We had two techs. Debbie and Hannah, on the orthopedic floor that were good! Everyone else couldn't be bothered with their job including the nurses. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this hospital.

I was diagnosed with epilepsy and was prescribed 1500mg of Keppra. I kept feeling funny and was having outbursts of anger and the shakes as well as increase of seizures (over 25 in a 5 day span when normally I rarely have them). I ended up losing a lot of weight due to feeling sick all the time and people were telling me I looked liked I had early onset Parkinson's disease. I started having dark thoughts and it scared me. I got so sick I went back and they lowered my dose to 1000 mg and my PCP put me on Propranolol as well as Odansetron. I still felt ill. I ended up seeing a neurologist and they were great but did not make any recommendations on medication changes except adding Melatonin because I suffer from Insomnia. That ended up bad as Propranolol lowered my heart rate and the Melatonin was lowering it even more ( lowest being 42 bpm while up and active) and I started having chest pains and still could not sleep. Fast forward I ended up having a Tonic Clonic seizure and I had already taken my meds but at the hospital they gave me an extra 1500mg of the Keppra and I felt real bad when I left and did as they said keeping my regiment going for a total of 2500 mg that day. My wife found me passed out in the tub in freezing water and when she was able to wake me and I was so sick and still am to this day. I feel like the night shift does not listen to no one ( at least from my experience because they completely avoid the fact I keep telling them I have issues sleeping due to chronic insomnia sometimes not being able to sleep upwards to 4 days in a row which triggers my seizures). They put in my paper work to avoid sleep deprivation, um how? I told you and its in my charts I have chronic insomnia, that is like telling an addicted gambler not to gamble. I called to get answers and the nurse in charge pretty much brushed it off and said I can talk to the PA but they wont be available for a while. They said I can come in but what is the point as they lost my trust. I would give 0 stars if I could and will be avoiding them if I can.

I got my blood drawn today and started feeling very light headed, began sweating profusely, and got very dizzy as if I was going to pass out. When I asked for assistance and water I didn’t receive anything but a blank stare in disbelief that I could possibly be bothered by having my blood drawn. Just thought it was ridiculous lol. Never felt the need to leave a review before but thought I would given this experience.

Got diagnosed in Stanford with appendicitis. Got a ambulance ride to Danville for emergency surgery. My doctors were really good and I have had the absolute best nurses. I've been taken care of very well. I'd give a higher review if the cafeteria was open longer and on weekends. It has made it hard on my husband here with me.

I would give them a zero if I could. Verified the mammogram clinic at Southtown was in network with Humana online and when scheduling appointment on the phone. Verified again day of mammogram. I was told yes it a screening mammogram and you have a 0 copay. They sent my mammogram to their out of network radiologist and I now owe them $168.

Do NOT come to Danville or any Ephraim expecting help. Went in AGAIN after they said come back if it gets worse.Basically told have to wait for orthopedic appointment. They only do xrays. No blood work, no CT no MRI. Said several times probably this or that but offered no relief. I wouldn't come back here if I was dying of a heart attack and it was my only option.I will drive an hour away to go somewhere else.NEVER AGAIN. NEVER.Horrible treatment. No answers. No help. No wonder the state takes inmates there. They do the bare minimum at that.Nothing more. Basically told sorry, we won't help you. I left but can GUARANTEE I will get a freaking ridiculous bill. Absurd.

Labor and Delivery: staff were great over the weekend. Helped with everything, were respectful of privacy and just all around great. The nursery staff however were not. I sent my baby so I could rest and only an hour later they kept bringing her back. They had horrible communication with my delivering dr. One said we could leave in the morning while the other hadn't even released my baby. Then they kept coming in my room while I was trying to rest just to see my baby and it wasn't for a vital check or anything. No one told me she had jaundice until the day I was leaving. Very unacceptable. If I do have any more children I won't be visiting this hospital.

Update: Ephraim mcdowell sent us an apology letter what a joke we knew yall were sorry or you wouldn't have let your patients be neglected.Emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction and if they do anything for him I have to go and hunt them down and ask for it. Been here three days and no one has offered him a wash cloth or tooth brush. Not one time has he even got medicine that I didn't have to go ask for it, it is supposed to be scheduled. His pain gets so bad he has panic attacks this should never happen with routine pain meds and breakthrough pain meds. This is so frustrating I been a CNA for 20 years and they haven't even asked him if he needed to go to the bathroom if I'm going to have to do their job put me on the payroll because if this is Healthcare it has turned into a joke

The ER department at Ephraim is what I would expect from a third world country. If you have a pediatric emergency avoid this facility if at all possible. This facility contracts out their ER doctors/PA’s, I am not even certain there was an actual doctor on staff the evening we were there. The PA was rude, combative, and had terrible bedside manner. Although most of the nursing staff was caring they severely lacked in professionalism and skill. The facility is in terrible decline with cabinets held together by tape, equipment turning yellow with age, cracked chairs that look like they were picked up from a garage sale, and an overall dusty grimy look in the treatment areas. With all the questionable billing tactics of Ephraim McDowell you would think they would put some money back into the facility, but they most certainly do not, at least not into the ER. The Danville community deserves better than this.

I came to bring my son for surgery and was accused of being intoxicated by a nurse ?? was it I forgot my 6 allergy drops in my eye at 8:30 am and my eyes are red or was it the rubbing alcohol that you require to use when entering the building??! I’m throughly confused was told it was just a question but how is that when you have prepped him for surgery (iv drip) and refuse to do it until I call someone to pick us up after his surgery, I wanted to prove my self because I am a good person and requested blood work those results showed I was not intoxicated. this nurse costed the hospital 300$ something for labs and almost caused my son his surgery he desperately needed. Staff needs better training and taught not to judge people. I called made a complaint but this needs to be public not swept under the rug that was a big accusation that day.

At a loss for words right now. I have never seen more disdain for patients than here. When I can get it together, I will explain the whole of a terrible experience exacerbated by an immature, cold, and uncaring staff.

This place has robbed the people of it's county and everyone around it. It's a big money circle and People never get better. Pass people off to one another and reap the benefits. One day people like this will get their reward. Jesus will see to that

I went to emergency because I could not breath.I kept waking in the night because I would stop breathing. They DID NOT have many people in the ER.One nurse said, " why don't you breath through your nose"?I guess the excessive rattling annoyed her.I couldn't breath through my nose at all.I was given a breathing treatment and tamiflu. The diagnosis was type A. Flu.THEY DID EXRAYS, WHICH I assume were misread. The doctor was unsympathetic and condesending.I heard a roar of laughter at the nurses station, when the doctor left my room. Two days later I went to the walk in clinic, not owned by Ephraim Mcdowell. They correctly assessed I had both type A flu and pneumonia.I was given the proper medication.I Began to recover within 24 hours.THIS IS A POORLY RUN FACILTY RUN BY A GREEDY CORPORATION MY OPINION.PAY PEANUTS, GET MONKEYS.
