There are plenty of good things to say about Building Performance Group. I appreciated the clear communication and explanations from scheduling my home energy audit to receiving the report. David allowed me to watch the tests, answered my questions, and presented several solutions based on my particular needs and preferences. I walked away feeling more educated and confident in determining the next steps to improving my home's efficiency. David was happy to discuss building envelope requirements and federal tax credits. It's clear he's well versed in the energy code. David has continued to provide assistance, answering questions based on the audit. All the stars!!

David seemed relatively knowledgeable but the report was underwhelming. It was mostly boilerplate language discussing systems in general, speaking generally about windows and doors, but nothing specific about any particular window or door even though I asked about one in particular that regularly had condensation on it.The HVAC system was not addressed at all, maybe I misunderstood, wasn't that supposed to be addressed?The very general recommendation was basically get more insulation. Having said all that, maybe the most disappointing part is that the report is insufficient to qualify for a tax credit under the Inflation Reduction Act. Knowing I could get a tax credit to some degree incentivized me to get this done. I assumed, as I think most would, that at a minimum any company providing energy audits would know the requirements that the report would need to meet under federal law to qualify for a tax credit and, at a minimum, meet them.

We purchased a large, distressed home with many issues. One of the main problems is a "broken envelop" that caused a severe case of "drywall ghosting" (google if you don't know). We almost passed on the house mainly because of this problem.Eric at Building Performance Group did an excellent job highlighting EVERY detail of his testing via pictures, specific descriptions and a lengthy video. His knowledge base, professionalism and caring were as good as it gets! In todays environment, too many contractors just want to get in/get out and get paid, not Eric. He has taken a number of calls from me and was kind enough to review our "punch list" (emailed to him) making sure it was complete and correct so everything can be handled properly.If you want to lower your energy bills, stop your home from leaking heat/air and understand your trouble areas...Building Performance Group is the answer. Thank you Eric.
