Glider's goetta is not the same product that I have loved over 50 years. It's a shame that apparently to cut corners in order to save money, you have destroyed the best product on the market. The pinhead oatmeal is like birdseed and there is so much fat it falls apart. We moved from the Cincinnati area and when we come back we stock up for a year. I have cooked three rolls now with the same result. What a waste of money. The package states original recipe but clearly it's not! The rest of the rolls I purchased are going in the garbage.
Update I received a message from Glier's . The employee was very polite on the phone. She asked for the expiration date on the rolls that I bought. She explained to me how the product is processed and how the recipe hasn't changed but the ingredients purchased to make it can differ. She is sending me a check for the rolls I have used.

I bought a slab a while back. When I opened it, it had mold and smelled terrible. This was still a month before the expiration date. I reached out to Glier's two different ways to let them know and see if they would honor a refund. I received no response. I like Glier's goetta as much as the next person (when it hasn't gone off) but their customer service is non-existent. You all need to do better.

Your goetta is extremely greasy these days. The taste has gone downhill.

Gliers Goetta USED to be great stuff. I've eaten it for almost 40 years. The last half dozen times I've bought it and attempted to cook it...it turned into an oatmeal-like watery mush...regardless of how thick I sliced it. You try to flip the patties with a spatula and it just falls apart like oily birdseed. I've spoken to others who had the exact same experience with Gliers. I learned to cook the stuff when I was 10 years old...and I'm now 50 so it's not like I'm cooking it improperly. I never, ever had this problem in earlier decades. NEVER! Telling people to cook it and not attempt to flip it until a crust forms...is a "fix" for dealing with the apparently new formula. We never had to do that years ago. I realize that any product from any manufacturer can occasionally vary due to unavoidable QC issues...but are you going to tell me that the last half dozen tubes of Gliers that I have bought over the past two years are all bad batches? I seriously doubt that is just a coincidence. Apparently something has changed in recent years regarding ingredients and/or processing. Saying that "our recipe and our ingredients haven't changed" is a very weak explanation because there are so many other variables involved in the production of your goetta...quality of those individual ingredients, the amount of time and care devoted to producing a batch...and even the quality of the employees and the working environment play a role in the quality of the end product. Sadly I am forced to stop buying Gliers...as I keep ending up with a sloppy mess I discard out of frustration. It is really frustrating paying $7.49 for a tube of Gliers and then having to throw it out, clean up the mess, and end up going hungry because you don't have enough time left to prepare another meal. Customers like me don't necessarily want their money back...they just want good goetta back. For every negative review that appears here, there are likely hundreds of other customers who didn't take the time to share their feelings online. A shame, really, because Gliers once was the best tasting product on the shelf. I do not care as much for the other brands...but it is futile to keep buying Gliers when I know what the end result will be. This is such a shame because it was Gliers who put goetta and Cincinnati on the culinary map.

I use to love goetta until I ate a piece and there was a bone in it and chipped my tooth. I called them and they did not even care. The woman on the phone said it can happen and they cannot get every bone out of it so I have moved back to bacon and sausage.

So many 5 star reviews...why? There are people in this region that are wildly into this stuff & I just don't goetta it. I pass their production plant in Covington almost daily when out driving & its smell is inescapable. In the olden times of yore, it was made of spare meat parts, but more recently goetta is composed of ground pork or beef, oats & spices. It has a very distinctive taste & you're likely to either love or hate the stuff, with little room for indifference. I'm among the latter. I've tried a handful of different recipes with it & it just wasn't working. Pass. In fact goetta is so popular here that there is an annual summer festival surrounding it. So, if you're looking for a quintessential Cincinnati area experience, grill yourself up some of this swill & have at it! Or maybe try Graeter's instead.

This product is ridiculously expensive ! And the quality has gone down it falls apart while cooking. I do t understand why this has to cost so much . I used to buy this for 3.50 a roll and now it’s almost $8 . I haven’t bought this in a very long time because it’s way to expensive !

Dear gliers, what the h--l. $7.48 cents.thats not only outrageous,it's absolute GREED. I grew up eating your product, and enjoyed eating a local product. Never again!!! Maybe your just delusional or just out of touch with your loyal customers. I just hope in the near future you come back to reality.

I'm from northern KY and have lived in Richmond KY 20 years. Our Kroger gets goetta one day and couple days later it's sold out. The shelf stays empty for weeks. We have a bad supply problem down here. Please try to fix this.

Grew up on Goetta! Absolutely love it, but now that a roll is $7 each at Kroger and Wal-mart, which is double a roll of sausage, we usually buy sausage now.
