Worth the 2.5 hour drive. Amazingly family friendly. Tons of walking/hiking paths. We love supporting places that look to preserve natural environments.
Stop in the visitor center...super friendly and helpful staff.
The Forest Giants are really neat. Great photo opportunities around every corner. Wonderful places to picnic and just sit and take it all in.
The cafe, in the visitor's center, had awesome iced coffee and food menu. Not super expensive at all.

Just passing through, and we're so glad we stopped here! They have one of the most natural/imaginative-play playgrounds I've ever seen.
Entrance is suggested donation of $15. Very much worth it.
E-charger stations for the cars, recycling station...kudos!!!
The gift shop and cafe are really nice and big. I love all the beautiful flowers, plants, and trees everywhere. They even incorporated some into the playground for play.
You could stop her for an hour or two like we did, or spend all day! I'd love to come back for longer.

Such a beautiful park! I love the "Forest Giants in a Giant Forest" by world-renowned recyclables artist Thomas Dambo; that is a must see! And children seem never daunted by the "giant trolls", but are actually drawn to them and are kind and gentle a respecful around them!!! And the park continues to add more shelter houses and more and larger playgrounds! There is no entry fee but a donation of $15.00 per car is recommended; and it is so worth it!

What a B-U-Tiful place. It’s easy to get caught up in the bourbon in Bardstown. I mean, that’s probably why you’re here but I highly recommend setting aside at least a couple hours and visit Bernheim. It’s just gorgeous and the artwork around the place is very cool. Check out their website for all kinds of events. They appreciate a $15 donation per car.

Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest offers a delightful blend of nature, art, and exploration that left me thoroughly impressed. The hiking trails wind through lush woodlands, offering serene views of native flora and fauna. The vibrant array of flowers dotted along the paths added bursts of color and fragrance, creating a picturesque setting.
One of the highlights for me was discovering the intriguing wood sculptures scattered throughout the arboretum. Each sculpture seemed perfectly placed to complement its natural surroundings, adding a creative and artistic touch to the experience.
The overall atmosphere was serene and rejuvenating, perfect for a relaxing day immersed in nature. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, an art lover, or simply looking to unwind amidst beautiful surroundings, Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest offers something special for everyone. I had a wonderful time exploring and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful escape into nature's beauty.

Did @9 miles this morning (Father's Day). Always a beautiful place, but the Millennium Trail was closed due to a high heat index. We weren't going to hike it this morning anyway,, but I don't understand why I couldn't make that decision myself.
