Dogs and cats are allowed to roam. Cats look skeletal, a few have eye infections. They aren't neutered/spayed on arrival so who knows what happens with that. My heart is breaking for these animals.

The reason for the 3 star ? is all I did was use the web site to look at pets up for adoption. I'm still looking were not quite ready to get another. As our dog passed away May 24,2024.

I had a wonderful experience with getting my heeler mix. She was already socialized with other dogs which helped a lot! Clean bill of health from the vet too. I was given by the shelter a bowl, two toys, two bags of treats, a blanket, and a collar and leash, she was also microchipped. I’m very happy with everything and can’t wait to spend more years with our pup.

I adopted a beagle mix puppy. She's so sweet and fits in perfect with my family. Staff was very friendly! Great with the dogs!

Gave us a cat knowing we have other cats, didn’t tell us he had pillow paw or anything of that matter. We’ve spent over 1000 dollars in vet bills. They lied to us and told us he was tested for Feline AIDS WRONG, he did in fact have this illness. The photo was from when we made it home, that was all of his feet torn open and bleeding. There’s a reason they wouldn’t let us really love on him.

I adopted a dog thru Taylor County Animal Shelter. There staff were very professional and nice. They made the experience a great one.

Horrible staff which means horrible place for animals. They think a dog who comes in with no fur due to "grass allergies" and her ribs hanging out isn't neglected. I recommend any other shelter but this one. It needs to be shut down or have people who actually care about animal welfare to work for them. Sad, pathetic place.

Absolutely awful staff. Gave me the 10th degree after I rescued a dog from the highway. I'm just trying to keep the poor thing from getting run over. Made me sorry I brought her.

Refuses to even help with the sick kitten they sold me. People like this should NOT be caring for animals.The building is nasty an in shambles, it's no wonder these animals keep coming out sick.

Great staff the animals are well taken care of and kept in a very clean environment ?? I would take them all home with me if I could but I couldn't so I donate time.
