What has happened to this practice? It was once a loving, caring practice but when they moved to the bigger new building it has become more like get them in and get them out and all the vets are very unfriendly and uncaring. I recently took my dog in for having nosebleeds they didn’t do anything. Looked at him for maybe 10 minutes gave me meds for him to take and then gave me a bill. My dog is not ok, his nose still bleeds and he is losing weight and not eating. I guess I will be going to another vet as this vet practice doesn’t care what’s wrong with him. Doc Crowley is surely rolling over in his grave as to what has become of the practice he built.

I just went for a 9am appointment for my 3 year old Aussie. They prescribed him some anxiety medication prior to the appointment but my baby boy was still on edge like some dogs are. These extremely kind people took him back and got his double ear infection addressed in 5 minutes. When the kind woman (didn’t catch her name) brought him back out, she was out of breath and almost breaking a sweat. That’s when I knew my dog was ceaselessly trying to wiggle his way out. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your accommodation and care. I know she had a whole workout trying to wrestle with 73lbs of separation anxiety but she did it and came out with a smile. She came out and acted like it was easy peasy even though I know he was probably giving her a heck of a time. While he was getting care in the back, the ladies at the front desk made me feel a whole lot better about me muzzling him during care. I felt embarrassed to have asked for a muzzle. They explained to me that 50% of the dogs that come in also tend to be muzzled just for precaution and it eased my OWN anxiety. When we left, my dog wasn’t too happy with me but I felt a whole lot better about myself nonetheless. Thank you so much for making my dog and I feel at ease and also thank you for staying in shape.

Update: The place is starting to feel like a used car dealer, they always want you to do more or spend more. The prices are getting ridiculous, not sure how people are going to continue to have pets with prices like these.Original 5 stars"They took great care of my boy who got cut pretty bad they fixed him right up!"

Would not recommend this vet to my worst enemy. I have never loved this place but have used them out of convenience as I live nearby. It is usually a pretty quick visit but thats the only perk. I already moved my cat to a different vet last year after ongoing unresolved health issues despite multiple visits month after month, and what was obviously very poor communication between the vets/receptionists at Grants Lick (I had to retell her entire medical history every time I called to update the vet or set up an appointment). I ultimately started seeing a different vet for her specifically, but kept my dogs here out of convenience. I was able to get her issues resolved within the first visit at the new vet by the way. Only recently did I finally move my dogs’ care as well, after I had a vet visit here for one of my dogs and he ended up dying the very next day. I was told everything looks fine other than some arthritis. They took X rays and sent me home with nausea meds and expensive food, and my dog died the very next day. Do I blame this office for his death? Not necessarily, it might have just been coincidence I woke up to a dead dog the next morning after his visit. But I do think this is the equivalent of a quickie lube oil change center for pets. They want you in and out quickly, there not enough attention paid to clients or patient care, and very poor communication between staff and lack of continuity as you will sometimes see a different vet each time. None of my animals have received the care they deserved here and I would hate for anyone else to have their fur babies’ health overlooked in the same way mine were. To add insult to injury, when trying to get records transferred to the new vet (both times) it was like pulling teeth to get medical records sent to myself AND the new vet. There are better places to take your animals, and it is worth your time and energy if you’re like me and found yourself enamored only by the convenience of this place.

This place rocks. We have a 13 yo labrador retriever whose physical health had been declining the second half of 2023. It reached the point where she could barely stand and walk. A few days after Thanksgiving, devastated, I took her in with expectations of likely putting her down. Dr. Marisa Hernandez saved her life. After a new treatment program, within a few weeks, she was back to her old self. She’s enjoying swimming in the pond again (her favorite activity), and even walking up stairs like a champ. I can’t thank Dr. Hernandez and the entire team at GLVH for everything they’ve done for us. A big shout out to Dr. Steve Enzweiler who was so great with her this summer as well.

Our family has taken their animals here for years and we had never had an issue, before now. We have just gotten a new kitten and we took him to this vet as we have our other animals. The first visit was a month ago. He was in bad shape when we rescued him. That the first visit, they gave him a de-wormer and a month of flea medicine along with flea medicine for our older cat as precaution because they found 2-3 fleas on him. He was also given an antibiotic to help with his sore butt. It did not get better and he needed another round of antibiotics. He finished those and now a month later he has worms visible in his poop. Both of our cats are indoor cats and never go outside they never scratch or bite their fur indicating fleas and we have never seen a flea on them. We immediately took him in for the worms and were told that we were the cause because we didn't continue the flea medicine. If they would have told us that it was needed every month on our first visit we would have ordered some but, the first visit they stated that they just needed the one month as a precaution especially since we have never had these issues with our 2 year old DLH cat. This veterinary office has made us feel like we made the mistake and are not taking care of our animals when it should have been all laid out for us in the first place. After spending over 270 dollars on the first visit and all of this medication for our 4 month old kitten we will be driving the extra 30 minutes to go to the Bellevue Animal hospital to continue their care with a vet that is more through and has better reviews from family and friends we have consulted with.

A quote is what you expect to have to pay when services are rendered. Especially when you ask twice before. Not double the amount when you pickup your dog after the services are complete. Saying it increased because of the dog age is no excuse. When you have the dogs medical records and have seen her two other times !I will drive the extra hour next time. To my previous vet. At least they are honest on how much it will cost me !!
