General Burnside Island State Park offers a variety of activities and amenities, including a year-round 18-hole golf course with plush and immersive fairways, a 102-site campground with all types of sites—some with full hookups—and opportunities for fishing, boating, biking, camping, and hiking. The park features a moderate hike to an overlook with scenic views, including a fabulous sunset view of the lake from Isabel Point Trail. The boat ramp is large and efficient, with ample parking for cars and trailers, making it a popular spot to see all the goings on at Lake Cumberland. Visitors can enjoy special events such as the Christmas lights display, which features beautiful lights, a festive atmosphere, and visits from Santa and the Grinch. The park also has several newer, clean play areas for children and plenty of places to walk the dog, making it a great destination for families and pet owners alike. The staff are courteous and professional, and the restrooms are kept clean. Overall, it is an excellent and well-maintained location for outdoor fun and relaxation.

We went for Christmas Island. Was very nice. Lots of lights. Free face painting for the kiddos. You can even see the Grinch and Santa. Very much worth the money and the drive.
