Boone County Animal Care & Control is amazingly helpful with any animal issue. They are professional and work fast providing solutions to people and animals in order to find new pets/homes. Personnel is highly trained to provide assistance either over the phone with answers to different questions or in person, being kind and nice to the animals. Good place to adopt. Right now, the adoption fees are waved. They also send you home with a goody bag worth an estimated $80-$100. They also board pets for $10 a day.

Found out you can not just surrender an animal to a shelter. You have to make an appointment. They were very helpful and guided me through the process. Really appreciate their help.

My sweet and loving dog slipped out my door in 2021 and boone county animal control Picked him up and refused to return him home even though I paid all the fees. They told me they were going to euthanize him even though he was the complete opposite of a viscous dog and Boone county claims to be a no kill shelter. well that’s not what one of the officers told me. she told me that my dog had already been euthanized and refused to give any more information than that. If I wasn’t low income I would sue but they took advantage of the fact that I couldn’t afford a good lawyer and so they lied to me about killing my dog and let one of the people that work there take him home!
