After I paid day by day bc my truck was in the shop they decided to charge me 1100 dollars without me knowing and this was a snake move i will never rent from them again worst company to get a car from i don’t advise for anyone to get a car from here if they don’t fix this issue i will go to the media with this story and possibly a lawsuit I have documented proof were i paid day by day

We were 500 miles from home, flights were grounded, we made a reservation with another car rental place. We go there to pick up our car and NO CAR! Not enough inventory for a one way 😒We were stuck. We looked everywhere and still no one way vehicle. After a hour of searching we found Hertz in Bowling Green KY. They were so incredibly helpful, the ladies made the whole process so easy and quick!! Even the price was great! In just minutes we were in our super clean 2025 Jeep trailhawk and heading home. We can't thank them enough for helping us with a one way vehicle with no notice and for being so professional and kind!! 10/10 would recommend!! We'll be only using Hertz from now on.

I would suggest going anywhere else . I have never had a positive experience. They lie, scam deposits. Take no responsibility. I took pictures of the car before & after to be safe & still did not get deposit back. I dont smoke & they never even provided me with a reason for keeping my money. Horrible business. Be ready to hire a lawyer dealing with Hertz

Worst experience ever! ; Customer service they don’t have answers for us. They cancelled my reservation at the last minute at pick up time. I had a doctor appointment in IL i have been waiting for the appointment for long time and bc of their bad work i missed it.

***UPDATE ** After being on hold for 45 minutes I got Cottisha @ 1:03pm. She informed me that the rental had been deleted, or canceled by the agent. I had to provide my reservation # and rental record again, plus the days I rented and returned the vehicle. Incompetentcy on part of the agent. Now I have to wait another 2 or 3 days to get this resolved. AND THE LINK DOESN'T WORK EITHER. This is by far the worst Hertz location I've experienced in a long time. No exaggeration whatsoever. I asked the lady upon returning my rental for a hard copy receipt which I always do for a rental. She printed the rental record without closing out the ticket. Someone else is driving around in my rental without a closed receipt. This isn't rocket science. This was 4 days ago, I'm still waiting on my receipt. I made a mistake of giving them a 5 star review. Never again. Try Avis!!

Worst car rental experience of my life. $500 hold placed on my account at pickup, to make sure I don’t smoke in the car. I get in the car… and it smells like smoke 🤣 customer service had no information for our questions. Hertz main line has no people answering the phone. It’s a complete mess. How are these companies still in business?

Please go literally ANYWHERE else but here for your car rental needs. I had a truly God awful experience here.
I traveled here from out of state because my mom had surgery and a chemo treatment and will be in the hospital for a couple weeks recovering. She very sweetly offered to pay for a rental car to make my time here easier, as I would need a vehicle while staying close to the hospital up in Louisville to be with her while my brother stayed in Bowling Green caring for our dad who has Alzheimer’s and needs support and care.
My mom booked online through a separate agency that is affiliated with Hertz. Payments were processed and I had all the confirmation information, as she had it put in my name. My brother took me to pick up the vehicle and we were told by the employee working there that morning that they don’t have access to the rental information because their systems didn’t connect? It was very confusing and the employee said that she knows it’s a bad system and wouldn’t be able to help—she tried to contact the sister-agency that we booked through and were told that my mom would need to request a refund online, pay a cancellation fee, then I would need to book it again then and there on my card. My brother and I asked the employee if she could check with a manager regarding this issue, and after quite some time she was able to get ahold of him on the phone and be given access to the reservation information. This process took over an hour to resolve.
Because of this error on their part and the lengthy time we spent there, we missed out on having an early Christmas breakfast as a family before my mom and I would need to leave to take her to Louisville to begin her prep for the surgery and chemo. This would be our only opportunity to be together as a family and celebrate the holiday before my mom’s procedure, as my brother and I both live in separate states from them.
I hoped the return would be easier, but there was another hiccup. I returned the vehicle in perfect condition with the gas tank filled to the correct level as when I first picked it up, then was told by another employee that they aren’t able to close out the rental. I asked why and she said that she isn’t able to access it and would need to reach out to someone to take care of it. I asked if I would receive confirmation that it was completed and closed, as well as confirmed that I wouldn’t be charged any additional fees and would get the deposit back. I was told that I would receive a call as soon as they completed it. I asked for an email confirmation as well and verified my contact information with the employee. I never received a call. I did get an email.
I have NEVER written a review like this in my entire life (millennial who understands that sometimes things happen), but this was such a horrible experience and it cost me precious limited time with my family during a really heartbreaking season for us. Their “solution” or way of apologizing was giving me a $50 off coupon for a future rental—not discounting our rental cost, or the cost for insurance that we had included. I really wish I could give them zero stars. I’m never renting anything from Hertz again and will advise others not to as well.
