I wish I had been warned before doing business with them.I found out too late and it cost me money but more importantly more than a year of time that I can't get back. I've spoken with 3 others that have had strikingly similar experiences.Especially if you have a small business, I hope that others can avoid the nearly crippling experience that I had to endure and find success with a variety of other great lenders in Bowling Green.Before the lengthy exposition I will say that there are those that work with German American that have been helpful and pleasant enough to deal with. The leadership as well asI own Musser Automotive. Our previous shop was destroyed in the 2021 Tornado. After the experience of having my business completely destroyed, German American took 10 months to close on a loan for our new location. We were previously approved for almost twice the loan amount for another location in the fall of 2021...During this period I was told a multitude of times it would be 2 more weeks. Those two weeks lasted months and months.We got back on our feet and began the process of expanding. German American wasted 4 months yet again and cost a growing business time and money a second time.When questioned about this, the minimal lip service and anemic apology was almost as shocking as the second round of waste that I was assured would not happen again.Truly the days of men standing by their word are fading away at places like this and I'm sure they taint the name of their industry.I look forward to the day, which I will work hard to make as soon as possible, that I can completely end every aspect of business that I do with this institution.

As a small business I can't speak highly enough of the folks at German American. Everything from loans to accounts has been a great process and they have walked me through parts that were new and unfamiliar in ways that other lenders would or could not.They get the job done and are always helpful and pleasant. A true benefit to the community.

We have been customers for almost 20 yrs. Wonderful personnel, and they offer great services. We moved away from BG going on 6 yrs ago and my family still banks with them!

We love banking with Citizens First. Rick Smith knows how to work with customers and very good at his job. The tellers and very nice and polite.

I am impressed with the mortgage department at Citizens First Bank, in particular Shatana Johnson. This morning my family and I closed on a home. When you need a mortgage be sure to see Shatana Johnson at Citizens First Bank!

They lock thei doors way before closing time, even though i called letting them know im coming. Wouldn't recommend anyone banking with them.
