I’ve been seeing Yvonne for a few years now and never imagined I’d be writing this. I had an appointment with her this past Saturday for a full highlight, something I’ve been getting regularly with no issues until now. Sadly this was by far the worst hair experience I’ve ever had with any stylist and I’m honestly still in shock.
As soon as she washed my hair after bleaching and toning it chunks of it started falling out. I’ve lost about half of my hair. Before I had wavy, thick, and long hair and I left the salon with patchy highlights, bald spots, and a lot less hair. This has been an extremely traumatic experience for me as i’ve been working on growing my hair for multiple years and feel like it’s part of my identity.
I’m super insecure as I leave for college and rush in 5 days, and now there’s nothing I can do to fix this in time. My hair is ruined, and I have to walk into this next chapter of my life feeling ugly and devastated about something that should have made me feel confident.
Yvonne stated to me that shedding after bleaching is considered normal but in no case loosing half of one’s hair density normal or acceptable.
I’m deeply disappointed and heartbroken that this happened, especially after years of trusting Yvonne with my hair. Most of my experiences with the salon were good but if you’re interested in highlighting or bleach services please be cautious as I truly do not wish this to happen to anyone else.

They will cancel your appointment the day of and give you no alternatives or follow up appointment. Extremely rude! Scheduled atleast 3 weeks in advance.

I don't like giving bad reviews, and before scheduling my appointment I did check the reviews for Local Roots, which were very positive. I brought in a picture of what I had in mind, asked if that was doable and the stylist agreed it was, no problem. I'm not sure when it became problematic, but my cut and style look nothing whatsoever like it inspiration photo. My hair has been layered within an inch of its life and I don't know what I'm supposed to do with it other than feel terribly embarrassed. I inquired about a color treatment for later, but won't be scheduling it with this salon based upon the poor quality of the haircut I received. I would never recommend Local Roots to anyone.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!
Devyn was so sweet and such a girls girl.
I felt comfortable, heard and excited! I left with all the after care instructions and felt fully educated and like I gained a friend. Highly recommend!

My daughter and I went out for a spa day and couldn’t be more pleased with our pedicures done by Jenna! She was so professional and made sure we were comfortable through out the process:). We will definitely be back to get more services!

I haven't been to the salon in a while I moved to Florida and I know one thing I will be back at Local Roots to see Amy she is the best she knows just hope I like my hair and she always does it perfect i love her work she is so professional see you soon Amy iam getting settled in Amy in Deputy Indiana with Nadine my daughter you are the only one I will see here in Kentucky I remember the first day i spent with you you were new at a new look salon

Thank you so much to Yvonne and crew who did our hair and makeup for our wedding! They had no problem handling 9 different hair and makeup styles, and even got us all done ahead of schedule. Plus, they made those special "getting ready" moments feel so easy and fun! Would recommend to anyone!
