This was the absolute best moving experience I have ever had! My sister was moving and I was all in to help but we needed muscles! John and Jeremy were fantastic! They took great care of our special pieces, helped hook up the appliances for us and and figured out how to get an oversized refrigerator through a small door. They were friendly and professional. I cannot recommend enough! Thanks again to Jeremy, John and Local movers! You’re the best!

We have had two great experiences recently with Local Movers, Duffy Dyer specifically. There was good communication and the movers were friendly, careful and efficient. We were amazed at how stress free the process was and I would highly recommend them if you are in the market for a moving company.

Fast and efficient! They showed up exactly when they said and had everything they needed to start the job. Very friendly staff who were super careful with our belongings. They even gave us a little care package and the cutest cookies! Fairly priced for the service. Will definitely use their services for our next move!

This company showed up at my house to move a piano purchased by someone else. They carelessly damaged my hardwood floor dragging it out, leaving a gouge across the entire house. The owner has repeatedly ignored attempts to contact him. Please hire actual professionals, with actual experience moving heavy items, like the piano company that installed the piano without incident, not these hacks with a box truck that clearly don't care about what they're doing. Hope you're insured, pal.

I moved into my 2nd home in my home town of Ashland, KY and had a 53 ft tractor/trailer totally full which we could not get down out driveway so I called Local Movers and they came out with their 18 ft truck and loaded from the 53 ft trailer into their truck and unloaded those into our home. A 100% positive experience as it could not have gone any better. Great, Great company that I highly recommend John, Josh and Zack were truly excellent and worked hard until they got it done!

Contracted them to move a hot tub. One week prior I personally drained and inspected it per the manual. They showed up the day of at my mother in laws house and loaded it up on a trailer. They removed the side and corner panels, and had the cover underneath the tub. Long story short after they delivered it and "set it up", it took me two hours to unscrew what they did. These "experts" had damaged the cover during the transport, and when they put it "back together" they:
1) Had the corner pieces in the wrong locations
2) Had the corner pieces upside down
3) Lights had been disconnected and cover panels reinstalled with the lights NOT being reconnected
4) One side panel had been torn
5) Pins for the Handicap rail not reinstalled/missing
6) Pins for the cover holder not reinstalled/missing
7) Side panel screws cross threaded
8) Side panel screw missing
9) Cover holder not reinstalled
I am a disabled veteran, and cannot afford to make all of these things right after paying them for what should have been a painless experience. They are now insisting on "before" photos before fixing their screw-ups. If they were a legit, insured business, why didnt THEY take "before" photos?? I will edit this if they do the right thing, but barring that I will be submitting with the Better Business Bureau next. Also am cancelling the check I wrote for their tip if I can. Stay away until I edit this, IF I do.
Update: I can find no business records for this company in the tri-states.
Update: We have been ghosted. No return calls/texts etc.
Update: First actual phone conversation since the move almost a week ago. Wife asked how Duffy how things were going, and he proceed to say not good and that “we did him in and everything we could to do him in”. My wife inquired about the unanswered text messages, emails, and pics we started sending within hours of when the damage was noticed. Duffy proceeded to rant and rave not giving him enough time to resolve the problem, that he drove to New York over the weekend to discuss the claim with his insurance company (not sure why a phone call with the insurance wasn’t sufficient).
One of the text messages and even an email specifically requested Duffy to provide his business insurance information, plus the liability documentation which instructed the “customer” to provide before/after photos of items being moved. Duffy nor anyone from the business ever replied or provided this information, so therefore we took this “nonresponse” as ghosting, just like many people would. This business had ample time to at least reply to our text messages/email inquiries to let us know they were working to resolve the issue (if they were), but they choose not to remain silent.
Furthermore, during this brief phone conversation today, Duffy would not let my wife get a word in as he was complaining about the reviews written which did indicate that “…this review would be revised “if” the company made good on the damage claim, the Better Business Review write up and cancellation of the $80 “tip” check that was written prior to noticing the damage or providing our missing 3 cotter pins (which would have been re-written if the business would have made good on the damages that occurred). Duffy proceeded to not let my wife get a word in edgewise and ultimately, he hung up on her, an action so unbecoming of a local business that according to google has been in business for 20+ years.

We arrived at our new home with a 20 foot U-Haul packed to the ceiling from the Mom's Attic to the door. My wife and I had 3 friends help us pack up the truck, but it was just the two of us doing the unpacking. After 4 or 5 hours of work we had made our way about a third of the way in, with all the really heavy items and boxes left to go. It was late on a Saturday when we called Local Movers. They responded immediately and had everything inside the house in less than an hour. After they left, the boss even returned and gave us a "Welcome to the neighborhood" package. We could not have dealt with a better, friendlier group of people. If you need excellent, quality help, we could not recommend a better company. We were so grateful to find them.

Called Duffy and he was able to send movers same day! Prices are comparable to other moving companies in the area.
