Had my first appointment today. It takes a while to get into ANY service and everything in Wichita is understaffed. 10 weeks before my first intake, then 2 weeks and now I had my appointment. I used to have Comcare before but Comcare became callous to where they were milking my insurance but NOT providing any service. I worked so hard to switch to MHA. Now i have had my first appointment and lookin g forward for the future. Please know MHA and Comcare use is usually based on personal service.Comcare is better with dealing older clients, homeless, vetrans. They have those resources. Comcare is better with low maintenance demographic with immediate suffering. Homeless? Veteran? lost benefits? comcare fixes that! need long term treatment? Comcare is not the option in my opinion. they like short term relation ships and anymore with life long struggles (like me since 3 yrs old) they get aggravated over time to the point of not wanting to help.MHA is better for younger demographic, and has activities and programs for lots more personal growth. MHA is better for younger people WITH THEIR OWN PLAN to move forward and MHA gets them there. I have been told about so many programs to move forward AND MHAs goal/motto is to help mental health in the community stop predejuice and support equality.Comcare's motto/goal is to deliver "professional service" and that is by their standards not anyone elses.Read the promises in each lobby of what each business means. i am seriously looking forward to my MHA rehabilitation

After my father had a stint in the mental health ward at the hospital I came here seeking help for him. His therapist did not persist in supporting his mental health and said he seemed "fine." They ended after 3 sessions when my father told her his goal was to go golfing. She did not help him create a care plan to make that happen. My father is not fine and suffers from extreme agoraphobia. This place is a failure if you're looking for support.

I had been going here for years, then I moved for a year, and came back to MHA. They are very terrible now! The font desk is terrible, and the therapist I saw was even worse. She barely shows up to work it seems, and when she does she makes me wait 30 min. For my appointment after cancelling with me 2 times prior. If you want good therapy go elsewhere.

Run for your life. Comcare is better. Especially if you are affiliated with the SSI supported employment demo. They don't have the staff or the resources and you just get treated like a burden. Run straight to comcare.
