I called all over town trying to find a refill for my asthma inhaler. They were the only ones to have one. Lifesavers!

This is what the heath care workers at Saint Jo do when you push your call light. Don't go here if you can help it.

Do Not Take A Loved one or enemy to Saint Joseph hospital. Doctors and Nursing staff don't care if you make it through the waiting process, medical tests, surgery or keeping family members informed in any process along the way. Bring someone to drive you but Saint Joseph Hospital staff isn't going to keep that person or family informed, if you are alive or dead while they wait. In fact Nursing staff and Doctor mislead patient and family member waiting. 3 Nurses didn't complete information needed before doctor anesthesia or doctor arrived do test or day surgery. Nursing did NOT bring family back after day surgery (test)! Go get the car! We'll bring him down. AFTER DAY SURGERY no information, No instructions, No paperwork - NOTHING!!! The Nurse walked him, NO WHEELCHAIR to elevator, pushed the button and sent patient just from anesthesia on his way ALONE. No Instructions NOTHING. Find your way your family member at front door. NO STARS, No Recommendation. Worst hospital Wichita. Terrible Doctor, Unprofessional nursing staff. Where is Sister IDA? She never would have allowed this to happen at Saint Joseph Hospital. I see why some of the Nursing Staff at Saint Joseph Hospital are not being paid Professional wages. Patients and family members are unhappy with care and attention to health and safety.

Terrible place to go. A resident pooped his bed for almost half an hour before they found out and they were all just sitting out talking to each other at the desk. On top of that I have sat here for 24 hours and the vital machine keeps going off no one comes to check. ICU 2 nd floor. They won't care for your loved ones properly. Side note: Heard an RN talk to some officers telling them she knows they are broke bc of there profession and telling them how to do their job. Which was to make sure the resident didn't put the blanket they kept giving him over his head and pulling out the IV Leeds. (this is not the officers job) Also ICU 2nd floor. This places management needs to act fast.

Uncaring administrative staff. Overlooked health concerns and simply didn't care. When my son was admitted they treated us horribly and dismissed our concerns about his care. Don't go here if you don't have to.

ViaChristy, allows its employees the freedom to abuse, at the risk of life, patients and family members. Nearly complete, is an article of evidence detailing multiple instances experienced within just three of their facilities in Kansas. In the attempt to save lives, I recommend the reader request another health care facility. I certainly recommend reading the other low star ratings here also and take note of the generic, repetitive responses!

I have a interesting welcome at this Hospital, first it was up the par, AT FIRST. Then later on it has taken longer and longer with me and my sister's stay. We came because she is in critical condition and the way it has taken 3 God damn hours to get her blood scanned is unacceptable and honestly embarrassing for this hospital that I should feel safe in. And honestly shall NEVER go here again . -Sign M

I was at this hospital in january got to the emergency room at 9:30 pm on a Monday night got to a room Thursday 2:15pm Im not understanding why JAHCO allows them to operate bad nurses the er doc looked like a janitor do some decent patient care then you may not need to keep going on strike (I'm unsympathetic) and I've noticed they want you to select a star to leave a rating mine will be negative 0.

I have been here since 7:30 and right now it's 12:05 I'm an excruciating pain they haven't given me any pain meds nothing they put an IV in and said I would have an x-ray which is going over an hour ago it was not busy when I came in but here I am we haven't eaten any dinner it's 12:05 they don't keep you informed I am not happy at all and then the subscription pain and let me sit here that's why I came in without any medicines any nothing so I don't plan on coming back to this emergency room again I know they get very busy here but they can take care of the people that they have here first instead of the ones that are always pain and you sit all these hours just waiting for what and so ready to just pull my IV out and say screw it what a waste of time

In May 2022 I took my wife to St. Joseph - Ascension Via Christi Hospital ER. ( 3600 E Harry St, Wichita, KS 67218) She was admitted to the hospital and had an emergency surgery the following day. The first unpleasant experience happened right away after arriving in the ER. My wife was crying and moaning in pain. The receptionist chose to ignore us and continued talking on the phone to some tech support person working on some computer issue rather than starting to help us. Several minutes later and after several nasty looks from me and another person entering the ER also needing help did the receptionist finally acknowledge any of us and started to assist us. Second, the event that is totally unforgivable and was totally avoidable is the reason I will never go back to St Joseph - Ascension Via Christi Hospital. When going to the pre-op holding area I was told, by the person pushing my wife's bed, that I had to wait in the surgery waiting room until called back to the pre-op holding area where I could comfort my wife until she went to surgery. She also said it is usually about 10 or so minutes. This was our first surgery (my wife's giving birth being the only time either of us had been admitted to the hospital) and we were naturally fearful, scared, and stressed. After waiting 30 min (20 min longer than expected) I asked the waiting room attendant to please call and check to make sure they did not forget about me here in the waiting room or to find out if there was a delay. To my amazing shock, he refused to help! I could not believe that this guy refused to call or provide any assistance to me at all. After 40 min I asked again and when he refused this time I demanded he get his supervisor. He ignored me! He literally totally ignored me! I continued in a calm, professional, and civil manner asking him why he would not help me and why he was ignoring me and still demanding to talk to a supervisor. Finally, he threw a business card saying here you go this is my supervisor you can call her. Which I did right away. When the supervisor arrived to my utter disbelief, she refused to help me as well. While I stood there being belittled by this uncaring and totally uncooperative supervisor making excuses as to why it was ok for her to refuse to assist me I was broken and beside myself. Later I found the reason I was stuck in this bitterly uncomfortable and miserable position was that the pre-opp staff had forgotten about me or were never told about me. Even worse... my wife had been taken directly to a room and left totally alone and not checked on for over 30 min stressing out when I could have been there to comfort her. We know this is what happened because after being alone for 30 - 45 minutes, someone poked their head in my wife's room and asked her if there was someone waiting for her in the waiting room they did not know about. They should have known about me waiting in the first place and they would have known if the totally unhelpful waiting room attendant or the supervisor had made a 30-second phone call like I had been pleading for over 30 min for. Only after the pre-op staff realized that someone was in the waiting room was I finally allowed to be by my wife's side and comfort her. But this was after almost 1 hour of additional stress, torment, and strain both of us suffered that again was totally and 100% avoidable. The feeling of helplessness, being ridiculed, feeling totally un-helped and overlooked by the waiting room attendant and his supervisor was such a bad experience that next time we need a hospital we will risk taking longer to get medical care by going to a different hospital rather than risk the absolute miserable experience suffered at St. Joseph - Ascension Via Christi Hospital again. The Doctors and nurses (with the possible exception of the pre-op nurses that forgot about me waiting in the waiting room and left my wife alone for 45 min) all seemed helpful, polite, and considerate. My wife even recalls a nurse in the actual operating room being very comforting and wiping her tears be

I wish that I could give 0 starts. My father was admitted to this hospital on April 4th and by April 23rd, they had to transfer him to another hospital to amputate his foot/leg due to neglect he received. Complaints have already been filed, and I will not allow this type of neglect and abuse stand. Their "nurses" are not compassionate, are rude to families, and down right lazy. The doctors will promise you the "best of care" and to treat your father like his own, but I can guarantee you, they would never bring their family to this hospital. I would never ever bring anyone to this place willingly again. It's abhorrent on how they are.

Worst experience ever. I will never, ever come here willingly. My dad just had surgery and was here for 3 days and it was the most terrible care we have seen and they were not busy. I would cross state lines to go to another hospital then come here if it was our only option. Most reviews are negative and there is a reason for that. Do not come here if you have a choice. The only positive was the doctor was great and checked in on my dad even on the weekend. Worst nursing care we have witnessed. And nicely complaining and then even rudely complaining gets you no where here. No changes or improvements. Such a bad experience.
