“The folks at the pantry were very nice, helpful and not condescending. They made my visit extremely pleasant and were helpful . “American Legion Post 370 is located off 75th Street and Foster St. in Overland Park, KS. It is an old Post, well maintained and at the time of day I visited there were at least 40 Veterans. Membership means military service and spouses are referred to as Auxiliary Members. NEW FUTURE MEMBERS WELCOME. “Outstanding program! Although these people have disabilities, they have tons of talent in many different ways. Some people are intimated by people with disabilities as i was until I was blessed with the opportunity to really get to know Beth Hartley. I discovered something I didn't know or understand. They are PEOPLE and they have immense value to add to our understanding of diversity. They need us, to understand them and the joy returned to us cannot be put into words without experiencing personal interaction with them. Do not be afraid to love them.... They will love you in their own way.”
“Everyone was friendly and always had food snacks and drinks available, not a bad walk to or from the hospital. They had a movie room, a little play area off of the living room and dining room that kids can build with Legos on the Lego wall”
“We adopted our elder cat from Great Plains yesterday. What a wonderful organization! They care so much about their animals and take excellent care of them. Their adoption process is rigorous to ensure all adoptors are prepared emotionally and financially to care for a new pet and understand their medical and social needs. The staff is welcoming and very knowledgeable. Many volunteers help the staff care for the animals and give them much needed attention and stimulation. Their store has food and other pet care items available to purchase. It's a wonderful place to find your new family member!”

“Love volunteering, donating, and visiting this place. Staff are so helpful and friendly. When you commit your time and donating, not only is it rewarding but also, you're helping out the kids and those who are sick. They always need things here. Check their website for their wants and needs. I have donated some toiletries, travel size soap, shampoo, lotions etc. Sharing is caring. If you get a chance, you get to meet their mascot/pet dog. Very friendly.”
“This is one of my family's favorite places to visit in the city. There are a lot of animals to look at inside the building, a nice area to bird watch, and some trails with rock formations. It's usually pretty quiet too and clean. The staff is friendly. The birds of prey are really something to see as is the gigantic snapping turtle and mole.”

“I tell e.one about this place. They make having a pet affordable w the cost of shots less then half the price of a regular vet office. They are fast & friendly w a very effective way of processing their appointments w an easy to use website to schedule your appointment easily & they send out reminders every year when your pet is due for shots. They also have cat & dog food available for free for those who r in need as well as supplies like bowls, leashes, collars, cages even s.times.Great resource if u have pets!!”
“I saw a series of paintings from this art gallery at Leawood Library, then stopped by for coffee chat after my AQUA ZUMBA class at Matt Ross Rec center. Chief Exective Angi is friendly and welcoming. I don't know about art much, but this place makes me feel good to be there. “This is the best of both worlds or whatever Queen Hannah Montanna said! This is because not only is DO GOOD CO. an amazingly curated resale shop, it also is a non-profit. Does that mean I can tax write off my vintage Chanel?? Well, that question remains unanswered. However, the merit of DO GOOD CO. isn't in question because it always impresses. From its fantastic selection of name brand, in tip top shape, lightly used designer goods to the wide variety of unique and local gifts to surprise any hostess or birthday girl or bride to be...or heck just about anyone youre looking to impress. If you are looking for a store that'll make you beam ear to ear because not only are you being kind to the environment you are also simultaneously supporting children and dogs in need in the immediate kcmo metro area then, DO GOOD CO is for you. It's one of those specialty vintage shops that never feels pretentious but does feel exclusive, and I absolutely love that for the downtown KC area. It makes it easy to allow patrons to feel at home as well as making it a luxury shopping experience. I will continue to shop at DO GOOD CO and FEEL GOOD about doing it. Just recently, I was honored to be invited to attend a holiday party at DO GOOD CO. and every detail was well thought out and planned impeccably. I was so impressed by the catering as well as the great selection of vendors who brought flair to the festivities. “I recently stopped in Story Botique when I was in town from Omaha. It is by far the classiest thrift store I have ever been in. It is spotlessly clean, prices are easy to find, and staff are friendly but not pushy.Story Botique is a little hard to find if you aren't familiar with this strip mall. Head for the north end of the mall towards the Catholic school. It is on the backside.”
“Humble little non-profit bicycle shop ran by volunteers. Good selection of used bikes, seemingly fixed up like new, for a flexible price. The staff/volunteers are were friendly and knowledgeable, and had me in and out with a nice Schwinn. Very cool concept.”

“They were helpful and friendly. What I found unique and refreshing was how they tried to anticipate your needs and give you options. I highly recommend that veterans come to this location and register. Don't forget to bring a copy of your DD-214. This organization will also provide you with a box of food if you need it. They also have shelves filled with toiletries such as toothbrushes and toothpaste and many more things. Veterans Community offers many more services so give them a call or stop by.”

“This is a great place to take stuff to recycle from the house! They have a large variety of stuff to buy at deeply discounted prices. The exceptions were a couch that looked brand new that was $125 and a men's dresser for $650 and a women's dresser for $750. Otherwise, there were couches for $50, chairs for $40. They also had cabinets, washers and dryers, tables, bookcases, hutches, paint, garden stuff, tile, carpet remnants, plates, bowls, lights, doors, toilets, tools and many more things!!! Of course, you never know what they will have so you gotta stop in.”

“Healing House made such a positive impact on my life. When I went in I was broken and beat down from many years of drug use, and I honestly didn't know how to function like a normal person anymore. They brought rules and structure to my everyday life. The leaders actually care about the people coming in the door. Not to say that are going to coddle you, they are very real and expect you to work an honest program. And I found in my time there that most everyone I knew including myself that actually wanted to get clean; did very well in the program. So thank you Healing House. You will always have a place in my heart.”

“I love the doggy daycare at Pawsperity. My Cavalier cannot wait to get in the door when we arrive. The staff are all so wonderful and helpful. I like the way the daycare is set up with play areas and the ability to go potty in a designated area. Also they are never over crowded with dogs like some other facilities. I also like that it supports the grooming project to train people for careers as groomers”
