Heart center needs to turn down the damn music. I have been going to the Heart Center for 15+ years. I have asked about the loud music for 15+ years. Everyone tells me to complain to someone else. I have several friends that agree with me.

I came into the er on July 22nd at 11:30pm with chest pains. i was waiting in the waiting room for 5 hours without anyone coming to check on me. when my fiance asked if anyone was going to see me the nurse was extremely rude with her. i never got an answer on what was going on. the phlebotomist noah and jimmy were fantastic. my whole visit lasted 7 hours with no answers. i would not trust the emergency room to care for me if i was in a worse situation.

Horrible service..people getting out of rescue squad are wheeled in ER waiting room according to how sick you are..while nursing staff sit around talking and people are really sick..

Absolutely terrible. I went into the er after falling off of my horse a couple weeks ago, with bad lower back pain. I arrived around 9 pm, And was not seen by a doctor or in a room until 11pm. When I was seen by a doctor he recommended I have an X-ray done, but before I went under radiation they wanted to test for pregnancy. I brought in my urine sample and the nurse set it on the counter and took me down to have my x-ray done. They did not even test my urine before taking me down. After he got the results from my x-ray he wanted to do an mri so that he could get a better look at things, so I did. When he got the results back he told that I had a fracture in my sacrum. By now it’s 3 AM, my dad was there with me and had to be to work at 4. So after spending 6 hours in the er and a hefty hospital bill, the doctor then tells me that I can go home and take Tylenol and ibuprofen as needed and I can put an ice pack on it. That was very frustrating to hear because that is what I had been doing the past two weeks and it did nothing. My dad had to ask the doctor to right me a prescription for something that would actually help my pain. Overall I was very unsatisfied. In the 6 hours I was there I saw a handful of nurses that were actually doing there jobs the rest of them were sitting at the nurses station chitchatting and eating. Im not really sure how this hospital is still in business.

Brought my daughter here (she's 4) to have her new set of tubes put in her ears. She's on her 4th set of tubes. We're new to the area. So we've never been to this hospital. She's autistic and non verbal. Got checked in at 7am. One of the nurses came up and was trying to talk to her. I mentioned She's non verbal and autistic. And the nurse said, "oh I'm so sorry." Sorry for what?? She's autistic? Then at 7:30 we got taken back to the room. My daughters crying and screaming. I mentioned to the 1st set of nurses She's going to need medication to help her calm down. She had it with previous surgerys. They shrugged it off. Then another nurse came in. I said the same thing. And she's like, "oh well have to see what anesthesia says." Anesthesia came in and the guy was hesitant. He said, "oh she'll calm down. And she'll be fine. She won't need it." We said no she's gonna need it 7:55 another anesthesiologist came in. And was talking down to me. Saying he's got kids. He don't think she's gonna need it. She's crying, and shaking she's so scare. And I said again. She needs the medication. And he's like, " it's gonna burn her nose and take awhile to kick in and she's next to go back. I'll do it though." Then waited until 8:25 to bring it in. It could have been working with how long it took them to bring it in. And he sprays it up her nose fast as hell! So yeah it definitely burned because he wasn't gentle about it. And like I said it would. It worked within 5 minutes. In the recovery room the guy nurse was talking to me slow. Like I never been through surgery before. And I told them once she started waking up she was gonna jump up til she found me. It took a couple extra minutes to wake up but once she did she jumped up and got in my arms.
Definitely don't bring Pediatric patients here. Especially ones with special needs. No one here is trained on how to communicate with them.!

After elderly disabled father in law had a a procedure here. We live an hour away, after the procedure they called me and told me he'd be released in 20 mins. I informed them I was over an hour away. They told me theyd leave him in the lobby alone in 20 mins. He was a fall risk to himself. Not only did they leave him alone, they wheeled him in a wheel chair outside and left him alone in the cold. Ridiculous.

Not terrible. I gave birth to my daughter here, and it's very clean and comfortable. Not all of the staff are nice, but that's to be expected.

Woke up with face droopy, went to hospital with symptoms of possible having a stroke. Scared. Reaching age of level 63. New to Topeka, dreaded the thought like other states of a five hour in waiting room ordeal. Not the case today. At check in, doctor came to desk after nurse alerted him..and said,' Bells Palsy.' With a few test he had me do. Stormont Vail Health Emergency Staff was outstanding. Sent home with prescription for steroids. Special thanks to Clayton Wood, DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine)

Went into the ER for chest pain, the nursing staff seemed very rushed and did not address the issues I was having, the nurse seemed cold and lacked empathy. Was not treated properly for my pain, and released in the same shape I had came in at. Doctor was an assistant and not knowledgeable. Stormont used to be the place to go that you knew they would take care of you, I was definitely failed at this visit. Knowing this it will be my choice to switch to another hospital

They only worry about numbers. They do not worry about their patients health or about their patients being in pain, or the root cause of their patients pain.
